Abstract

The present invention relates to an insulated mail slot device with at least one mail slot, at least one hinge, and at least one door with at least one insulation piece. The mail slot can be secured within an opening of a door or structure and wherein the door attaches to the mail slot via at least one hinge. The body of the door is filled with an insulating material. In addition, the mail slot may be comprised of a rubber gasket or padding that eliminates space between the door and the mail slot.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . An insulated mail slot device comprising:
a mail slot; a hinge; a door; and an insulating material positioned on the door.

2 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 1 , wherein the insulating material is comprised of a foam insulation, a fiberglass insulation, a cellulose insulation, a mineral wool insulation, a natural fiber insulation, or a denim insulation.

3 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 1 , wherein the hinge is positioned adjacent to the mail slot.

4 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 3 , wherein the door is repositionable relative to the hinge.

5 . An insulated mail slot device comprising:
a mail slot comprised of an exterior frame, an interior wall and a lip; a hinge; a door; an insulating material positioned within the door.

6 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 5 , wherein the hinge is a spring-loaded hinge.

7 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 5 , wherein the door is comprised of a bottom wall that is convex.

8 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 5 , wherein the interior wall is comprised of a padding.

9 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 5 , wherein the door is comprised of a front wall that is comprised of a wood, a brick, a stone, a metal, or a stucco material.

10 . An insulated mail slot device comprising:
a mail slot comprised of an exterior frame, an interior wall, and a lip; a hinge; a door comprised of a front wall, a rear wall, a top wall, a side wall, and a bottom wall; a sensor; an insulating material; a battery; an LED; and a speaker.

11 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the interior wall is comprised of a gasket.

12 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 11 , wherein the gasket is a waterproof gasket.

13 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 11 , wherein the gasket is positioned between the door and the interior wall.

14 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the front wall of the door is shaped like a pattern, a logo, an emblem, an image, a symbol, a design, a letter, a word, a character, an animal, an advertisement, or a brand.

15 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the sensor is a motion sensor.

16 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the sensor is in wireless electrical communication with the speaker.

17 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the sensor is in wireless electrical communication with the LED.

18 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 10 , wherein the battery functions as a power source to the LED and to the speaker.

19 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 17 , wherein an activation of the sensor illuminates the LED.

20 . The insulated mail slot device of claim 16 , wherein an activation of the sensor causes the speaker to produce a sound.
