Abstract

Provided herein is an ophthalmological composition and methods for the treatment of presbyopia. In some embodiments, the ophthalmological composition comprises aceclidine and brimonidine.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

. An ophthalmological composition comprising aceclidine and brimonidine.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein when administered to an eye of a subject the ophthalmological composition results in reduced eye redness of the subject compared to an otherwise identical ophthalmological composition comprising aceclidine as the sole active agent.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein the ophthalmological composition comprises a pH from about 4.0 to about 8.0.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein the ophthalmological composition has an initial viscosity of at least 20 centipoises (“cps”) at a shear of 1/s, the initial viscosity being the viscosity of the ophthalmological composition on upon administration to the eye.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein after administration to an eye forms an administered composition having a first viscosity, the first viscosity being the viscosity of the administered ophthalmological composition between eyelid blinks.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 5 , wherein the first viscosity is between 10 cps and 100 cps.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 5 , wherein the administered composition has a second viscosity, the second viscosity being the viscosity of the administered ophthalmological composition during an eyelid blink.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 7 , wherein the second viscosity is 30 cps or less.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 7 , wherein when administered to the eye of a subject an increased residence time of aceclidine on the eye is produced.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein the ophthalmological composition is free of a preservative.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 7 , wherein the ophthalmological composition is free of a preservative.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 1 , wherein the ophthalmological composition is free of benzalkonium ion.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 7 , wherein the ophthalmological composition is free of benzalkonium ion.

. A method of treating presbyopia comprising administering to an eye of a subject in need thereof an ophthalmological composition comprising aceclidine and brimonidine.

. The method of claim 14 , wherein the ophthalmological composition has an initial viscosity of at least 20 cps at a shear of 1/s, the initial viscosity being the viscosity of the ophthalmological composition on upon administration to the eye.

. The method of claim 14 , wherein after administration to an eye forms an administered composition having a first viscosity, the first viscosity being the viscosity of the administered ophthalmological composition between eyelid blinks.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 16 , wherein the first viscosity is between 10 cps and 100 cps.

. The method of claim 16 , wherein the administered composition has a second viscosity, the second viscosity being the viscosity of the administered ophthalmological composition during an eyelid blink that is different from the first viscosity.

. The ophthalmological composition of claim 18 , wherein the second viscosity is 30 cps or less.

. The method of claim 14 , wherein the ophthalmological composition is free of benzalkonium ion.
