Abstract
The subject matter described herein is directed to articles, compositions, systems, and methods of using and preparing bioceramic compositions and to the bioceramic compositions. A bioceramic composition of the disclosure radiates infrared energy or rays and can be used in the treatment of various conditions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of cultivating a plant, the method comprising cultivating the plant with a bioceramic composition, wherein the use of the bioceramic composition in the cultivation of the plant increases the absorbance of one or more nutrients by the plant, wherein the bioceramic composition comprises kaolinite (Al 2 Si 2 O 5 (OH) 4 ), tourmaline, silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ), aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ), and at least one additional oxide selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2 ), and magnesium oxide (MgO).
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bioceramic composition is in the form of a pellet, in the form of a powder, or incorporated into a textile.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the use of the bioceramic composition increases a total number of leaves of the cultivated plant as compared to a control that is not cultivated with the bioceramic composition.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the increase in the total number of leaves is greater than 4%.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the use of the bioceramic composition increases a total weight of the plant as compared to a control.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the increase in the total weight of the plant is greater than 5% or greater than 10%.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the use of the bioceramic composition increases the weight of the plant, not including the weight of the roots, as compared to a control that is not cultivated with the bioceramic composition.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the increase in the weight of the plant, excluding the weight of the roots, is greater than 5% or greater than 10%.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plant is cultivated in a hydroponic system.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the use of the bioceramic composition in the cultivation of the plant increases the absorbance of one or more nutrients by the plant in fewer than 15 days.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the use of the bioceramic composition in the cultivation of the plant increases the absorbance of one or more nutrients by the plant in fewer than 21 days or fewer than 30 days.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bioceramic composition comprises:
a) from about 45 wt % to about 55 wt % kaolinite (Al 2 Si 2 O 5 (OH) 4 ); b) from about 5 wt % to about 15 wt % tourmaline; c) from about 11 wt % to about 19 wt % silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ); d) from about 3 wt % to about 18 wt % of aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ); and e) from about 3 wt % to about 13 wt % of at least one additional oxide
wherein the amounts are by total weight of the bioceramic composition
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the at least one additional oxide is selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2 ), and magnesium oxide (MgO).
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the at least one additional oxide is magnesium oxide (MgO).
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the at least one additional oxide is titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ).
16 . A method of cultivating a plant, the method comprising cultivating the plant with a composition comprising kaolinite (Al 2 Si 2 O 5 (OH) 4 ), tourmaline, silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ), aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ), and at least one additional oxide selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2 ), and magnesium oxide (MgO).
