Abstract

A method of treating a T-cell mediated disease in a subject by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds to CD6 is described. Humanized antibodies useful for the method are also described.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of treating a T-cell mediated disease or disorder in a subject by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds to CD6.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the disease is an autoimmune disease.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the T-cell mediated disease is multiple sclerosis.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is human.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the antibody is a humanized antibody.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the humanized antibody is selected from the group of antibodies consisting of Fab2, Fab4, and Fab6, or variants thereof including only conservative sequence modifications.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the humanized antibody comprises a heavy chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 1, a light chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 2, or variants thereof including only conservative sequence modifications.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the humanized antibody comprises a heavy chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 3, a light chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 4, or variants thereof including only conservative sequence modifications.

10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the humanized antibody comprises a heavy chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 5, a light chain comprising SEQ ID NO: 6, or variants thereof including only conservative sequence modifications.
