Abstract
An automated threat detection and deterrence apparatus includes an imaging device configured to detect a subject in a subject area, a deterrent component including a directed light deterrent, wherein the directed light deterrent includes a first deterrent mode and a second deterrent mode, the directed light deterrent is configured to perform a first deterrent action on the subject when in the first mode, the directed light deterrent is configured to perform a second deterrent action on the subject when in the second mode, and a processor communicatively connected to the imaging device and the deterrent component, wherein the processor is configured to identify the subject as a function of the detection of the subject, determine a behavior descriptor associated with the subject, select one of the first deterrent mode and the second deterrent mode and command the directed light deterrent to perform an action based on the selection.

24 : An automated detection and tracking system comprising:
a detection device configured to persistently detect and persistently track an object; a processor communicatively connected to the detection device wherein the processor is configured to: instruct the detection device to persistently detect and persistently track the object; instruct a machine learning model to classify the object based on information obtained from the persistent detection and persistent tracking; and obtain a classification of the object as an output of the machine leaning model.
25 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , wherein the processor is configured to instruct the detection device to persistently detect and persistently track the object based on the classification.
26 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , further comprising:
a deterrent component communicatively connected to the processor, wherein the processor is configured to instruct the deterrent component to persistently perform a first deterrent action to the object based on the classification.
27 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 26 , wherein the processor is configured to instruct the deterrent component to persistently performs a second deterrent action to the object based on updated information obtained from the detection device.

the processor is configured to obtain a distance from the deterrent component to the object and to instruct the deterrent component to persistently perform a second deterrent action to the object based on updated information, obtained from the detection device and the distance from the deterrent component to the object.
29 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 26 , wherein the first deterrent action is an audio warning, and the audio warning is designed to alert the object that the object is on protected grounds.
30 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 29 , wherein, after the first deterrent action is performed, if the system determines that the object continues to be aggressive based on detected behavioral characteristics, then the processor is configured to instruct the deterrent component to perform a second deterrent action to the object, wherein the second deterrent action is at least one of an audio warning with increased decibel level, increased repetition rate, or varied acoustic sounds or messages than the audio warning of the first deterrent action.
31 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 26 , wherein the object classification determines the presence of eyewear on the object.
32 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , wherein the detection device comprises an imaging device configured to detect light from naturally occurring photons reflected by the object.
33 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 26 , further comprising an infrared light emitter, wherein the detection device comprises an imaging device configured to detect infrared light retroflected by the object.

wherein said system classifies the object as incorporating a lens.
35 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 34 , wherein the first deterrent action performed on the object is continuously aimed at the lens and designed to blind or obfuscate a sensor of the object.

37 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 33 , wherein if said system determines the object incorporates a lens, then said system determines a location of an eyeball of the object based on information from the retroreflected light, and the first deterrent action performed on the object is continuously aimed at the eyeball to interdict the object's vision;

41 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 27 , wherein the first deterrent action or the second deterrent action induces a visual impairment including at least one of a glare effect, afterimage effect, or saturation effect directed to the object.
42 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 27 , wherein the first deterrent action or the second deterrent action induces dermal agitation to the object by at least one of microwave, photonic deterrent, or laser deterrent.
43 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 39 , wherein the processor is configured to:
detect a behavioral characteristic of the object, wherein the behavioral characteristic is a compromised central nervous system of the object; and instruct the deterrent component to vary the first deterrent action based on at least one of strobe frequency, strobe lux intensity, or strobe wavelength.
44 . The automated detection and tracking system of claim 27 , wherein the processor is configured to instruct the deterrent component to vary the first deterrent action or the second deterrent action based on a detected behavior response of the object.
45 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 38 , wherein the first deterrent action is designed to cause the human subject to change the human subject's motivation, by increasing cognitive load on the human subject.
46 . The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , wherein the detection device is configured to determine a location of the object based on data received from pings, wherein the pings are GPS, wireless, or Bluetooth signals.
47 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , further comprising:
a deterrent component communicatively connected to the processor and configured to persistently perform one or more deterrent actions to the object, wherein the processor is configured to instruct the deterrent component to perform the one or more deterrent actions to the object based on the classification, said apparatus configured to detect a countermeasure worn, mounted, attached, coupled, or used by the object, and wherein the countermeasure is configured to counteract the one or more deterrent actions.
48 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 47 , wherein said apparatus is configured to select a deterrent action designed to bypass or overcome the detected countermeasure by the object.
49 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 48 , wherein the selection is performed using a machine-learning process, which is trained using training examples correlating countermeasures to successful deterrents previously deployed against such countermeasures.
50 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 48 , wherein the selection is performed using a lazy learning machine-learning process, which is trained using training data input by a user.
51 . The automated detection and tracking system of claim 47 , wherein said system is configured to detect countermeasures by the object using machine-learning and anatomical or anthropomorphic landmark location processes.
52 : The automated detection and tracking system of claim 24 , further comprising an emitter configured to emit an emission; and
wherein the detection device is configured to detect the object based on the emission.
53 : An automated threat detection and deterrence apparatus comprising:
