System and method for making reservations in a hospitality establishment
Abstract
A system and method for making reservations in a hospitality establishment are disclosed. In one embodiment of the system, a database includes multiple the media source files relative to guest room spaces within a room. A server which handles reservations renders a map view of the hospitality establishment based on obtained map data. The map view includes a graphical representation of the room as well as other rooms. In response to the room being selected, the graphical representation of the selected room is annotated with room reservation data and at least one of the media source files of the selected room. The server may execute a reservation for the selected room.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for making reservations in a hospitality establishment, comprising:
accessing a database including a plurality of media source files, wherein the plurality of media source files are populated substantially contemporaneously when an entertainment center in a room of the hospitality establishment is made ready for use, the plurality of media source files being relative to guest room spaces inside the room; rendering a map view of the hospitality establishment based on obtained map data, the map view including a graphical representation of the room and a plurality of other rooms at the hospitality establishment; annotating the graphical representation of the room and the plurality of other rooms to indicate room availability; receiving a selection of a room from a user; annotating the graphical representation of the selected room with room reservation data; and annotating the graphical representation of the selected room with at least one of the plurality of media source files of the selected room.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of media source files comprise at least one of photographs, videos, and audiovisual recordings relative to the guest room spaces.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing an interface for the user to interact with the map view and make the room selection.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the room reservation data includes at least one of: number of guests, arrival date, departure date, and pricing.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the annotating of the graphical representation of the room with room reservation data further comprises displaying a summary of the reservation details.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the database is updated in real-time to reflect the current status of each room in the hospitality establishment.
7 . A system for managing reservations in a hospitality establishment, comprising:
a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having access to a database with media source files populated when an entertainment center in a room is prepared, the media source files being relative to guest room spaces in the room; and a software module executable by the processor configured to:
render a map view of the hospitality establishment, including a graphical representation of rooms,
annotate the rooms to indicate availability,
annotate a selected room with reservation data, and
annotate the selected room with media source files.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the media source files include photographs of the guest room spaces.
9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the software module further provides a search functionality allowing users to select rooms based on specific criteria.
10 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the software module further provides a virtual tour of the selected room based on the media source files.
11 . A method for facilitating reservations in a hospitality establishment, comprising:
accessing a remote server database containing media source files associated with guest room spaces, the media source files being populated in alignment with a technical protocol for preparing an entertainment center in a room; generating a map view of the hospitality establishment using acquired map data, the map view showcasing a graphical representation of various rooms within the hospitality establishment; marking the graphical representation of rooms based on their availability status; capturing a user's room selection; overlaying the graphical representation of a chosen room with reservation details; and integrating the graphical representation of the chosen room with specific media source files from the database.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the technical protocol includes steps for both physical and installation quality assurance of the entertainment center.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the media source files consist of a combination of photographs, videos, and audiovisual recordings that depict different areas of the guest room spaces.
14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising offering a user interface that allows users to navigate the map view and finalize their room selection.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the reservation details encompass data points such as the number of occupants, check-in and check-out dates, and room pricing.
16 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising presenting a summarized version of the reservation details post the annotation of the selected room.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the database undergoes real-time updates to mirror the current availability status of each room within the hospitality establishment.
18 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising facilitating a virtual tour of the selected room, leveraging the media source files.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the media source files include specific audiovisual content highlighting areas selected from the group consisting of a bathroom, dressing area, sleeping area, and work area within the room.
20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the technical protocol ensures the room's online status, verifies self-test results, and confirms an absence of connection issues with the entertainment center components.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
