Abstract
Systems and methods for managing the storage of content are described. A video stream may include a content identifier and content information relating to a boundary that may be used to facilitate recording of at least a portion of the video stream.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
receiving, at a computing device, a request to record a content asset; receiving video content comprising the content asset and content information; determining, based at least on the content information, a content identifier relating to the content asset a boundary point of the content asset; storing, based on the content identifier and the boundary point of the content asset, the content asset.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the boundary is indicative of a start point for the content, an end point for the content, or an advertisement boundary.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises linear content.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein storing the content asset comprises writing a copy of the content asset:
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving an indication the content asset is successfully stored.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving an indication the content asset is failed to be stored; and causing, based on the content identifier and the boundary point of the content asset, the at least the stored portion of the content asset to be stored at a different location.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the indication comprises a disk error indication.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises an MPEG transport stream.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises a time signal mechanism in accordance with SCTE 35, and wherein at least a portion of the content information is associated with the time signal mechanism.
10 . An apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed, cause the apparatus to: receive a request to record a content asset; receiving video content comprising the content asset and content information; determine based at least on the content information, a content identifier relating to the content asset a boundary point of the content asset; store, based on the content identifier and the boundary point of the content asset, the content asset.
11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the boundary is indicative of a start point for the content, an end point for the content, or an advertisement boundary.
12 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the content comprises linear content.
13 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein storing the content asset comprises writing a copy of the content asset:
14 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
receive an indication the content asset is successfully stored.
15 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the computer executable instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
receive an indication the content asset is failed to be stored; and cause, based on the content identifier and the boundary point of the content asset, the at least the stored portion of the content asset to be stored at a different location.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the indication comprises a disk error indication.
17 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the content comprises an MPEG transport stream.
18 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the content comprises a time signal mechanism in accordance with SCTE 35, and wherein at least a portion of the content information is associated with the time signal mechanism.
19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause:
receiving, at a computing device, a request to record a content asset; receiving video content comprising the content asset and content information; determining, based at least on the content information, a content identifier relating to the content asset a boundary point of the content asset; storing, based on the content identifier and the boundary point of the content asset, the content asset.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the boundary is indicative of a start point for the content, an end point for the content, or an advertisement boundary.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
