Flexible hair extension with form retention capability
Abstract
A flexible hair extension includes an attachment assembly and a plurality of hairs. Each hair within the plurality of hairs is attached to the attachment assembly. The attachment assembly is flexible and can be easily deformed by hands into any geometric shape desired by the user. The attachment assembly retains the new form against gravity acting on the attachment assembly and the plurality of hairs. The new form can also be easily deformed by hand into another form. The attachment assembly can include a wire extending along its length. The attachment assembly is adapted to be attached to the user's head at one or more points along its length and unattached along at least one free segment.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A hair extension with form retention capability comprising:
an elongate attachment assembly comprising at least a first malleable wire with form retention capability, the first malleable wire having a length that is aligned with a length of the attachment assembly in a longitudinal direction; a plurality of hairs attached to the attachment assembly at points along the attachment assembly length; the attachment assembly being deformable by hand into a deformed shape; the hair extension being operative to be worn on a human user's head by attaching the attachment assembly in the deformed shape to the user's natural hairs in such a manner that a longitudinal segment of the attachment assembly in the deformed shape is a free segment, the free segment being free of attachment to the user's natural hairs; wherein the attachment assembly is operative to resist further deformation of the free segment when gravity acts upon the hair extension so worn on the user's head.
22 . The hair extension of claim 21 wherein the attachment assembly further comprises an additional malleable wire with form retention capability twisted together with said first malleable wire wherein said plurality of hairs are disposed between said first and additional malleable wires.
23 . The hair extension of claim 21 wherein the attachment assembly further comprises a binding member coupled to said first malleable wire, wherein said plurality of hairs are attached to said binding member.
24 . The hair extension of claim 21 wherein the attachment assembly further comprises two wefts, the first malleable wire being disposed between said two wefts.
25 . The hair extension of claim 24 wherein the first malleable wire is glued between the two wefts and the plurality of hairs are glued to the attachment assembly.
26 . The hair extension of claim 24 wherein the two wefts are sewn together and the plurality of hairs are glued to one of the two wefts.
27 . A hair extension with form retention capability comprising:
an elongate attachment assembly having a length defining a longitudinal direction, the attachment assembly comprising a series of longitudinally spaced apart hoops and a longitudinal segment connected between each successive hoop of the series and a preceding hoop of the series; the attachment assembly being deformable by hand into a deformed shape; the hair extension being operative to be worn on a human user's head by weaving the user's hairs through the hoops of the attachment assembly in the deformed shape, the longitudinal segment of the attachment assembly in the deformed shape being a free segment, the free segment being free of attachment to the user's natural hairs; wherein the attachment assembly is operative to resist further deformation of the free segment when gravity acts upon the hair extension so worn on the user's head.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
