Convertible bed with concealed electrical connectors and electrical accessories

Abstract

A convertible bed may have a headboard including one or more panels and one or more functional features disposed on the headboard. The functional features may be electronic features. The functional features may be concealed by the headboard in a closed configuration where the headboard appears uniform. In an open configuration one or more functional features on the headboard are visible. The convertible bed may include one or more of an ambient lighting source, a motion sensor operative to control the ambient lighting source, a multifunctional supporting leg, and a power button.

1 . A convertible bed, comprising:
 a headboard comprising one or more panels; and   one or more functional features disposed on the headboard, wherein the one or more functional features are concealed by the headboard in a first configuration;   wherein the headboard has a substantially uniform configuration in the first configuration.   
     
     
         2 . The convertible bed of  claim 1 , wherein the headboard comprises a plurality of panels and is convertible from the first configuration to a second configuration, and at least one of the one or more functional features are visible when the headboard is in the second configuration.

         4 . The convertible bed of  claim 1 , wherein the headboard in the second configuration includes at least one panel moved away from a headboard back panel. 
     
     
         5 . The convertible bed of  claim 4 , wherein the at least one panel moved away from the headboard back panel comprises an armrest. 
     
     
         6 . The convertible bed of  claim 5 , wherein the armrest includes at least one of a cup holder, a support base, and a wireless charging surface. 
     
     
         7 . The convertible bed of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more functional features include at least one of an armrest, a speaker, a storage compartment, a light, a controller for controlling furniture functions, a wireless charger, and a projector. 
     
     
         8 . The convertible bed of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one of a footboard and a sideboard, and at least one electrical connector or non-electrical connector positioned on one or more of the headboard and the at least one of a footboard and a sideboard. 
     
     
         9 . The convertible bed of  claim 8 , wherein the at least one electrical connector or non-electrical connector comprises at least one of a USB connector and a support base, wherein
 the support base is configured for removably attaching to a plurality of electrical and non-electrical accessories, wherein the electrical accessories include a device holder, a device charger, a lamp, a reading light, a fan, a projector, or a scent diffuser, and the non-electrical accessories include a supporting surface, cup holder, or wine glass holder.   
     
     
         10 . The convertible bed of  claim 1 , further comprising one or more of:
 an ambient lighting source,   a motion sensor operative to control the ambient lighting source,   a multifunctional supporting leg, and   a power button.   
     
     
         11 . A convertible bed, comprising:
 a headboard comprising a plurality of panels; and   one or more functional features disposed on the headboard;   wherein outer surfaces of the plurality of panels form a repeating pattern of one or more shapes in one or more directions across the headboard when viewed in a direction substantially orthogonal to a surface of the headboard;   one of the panels of the plurality of panels is a moveable panel moveable between a first configuration in which the functional feature is concealed a second configuration in which the functional feature is exposed.   
     
     
         12 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , wherein each panel of the plurality of panels has an identical size in a first direction across the headboard. 
     
     
         13 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , wherein the repeating pattern of one or more shapes is a repeating pattern of identical shapes. 
     
     
         14 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , wherein the one or more functional features include at least one of an armrest, a speaker, a storage compartment, a light, a controller for controlling furniture functions, a wireless charger, and a projector. 
     
     
         15 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , further comprising at least one of a footboard and a sideboard, and at least one electrical connector or non-electrical connector positioned on one or more of the headboard and the at least one of a footboard and a sideboard. 
     
     
         16 . The convertible bed of  claim 15 , wherein the at least one electrical connector or non-electrical connector comprises at least one of a USB connector and a support base, wherein
 the support base is configured for removably attaching to a plurality of electrical and non-electrical accessories, wherein the electrical accessories include a device holder, a device charger, a lamp, a reading light, a fan, a projector, or a scent diffuser, and the non-electrical accessories include a supporting surface, cup holder, or wine glass holder.   
     
     
         17 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , further comprising one or more of:
 an ambient lighting source,   a motion sensor operative to control the ambient lighting source,   a multifunctional supporting leg, and   a power button.   
     
     
         18 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , wherein the movable panel forms and armrest when in the second configuration. 
     
     
         19 . The convertible bed of  claim 18 , wherein the armrest includes at least one of a cup holder, a support base, and a wireless charging surface. 
     
     
         20 . The convertible bed of  claim 11 , wherein the outer surface of a first moveable panel of the plurality of panels is identical to the outer surface of a second moveable panel of the plurality of panels.
