Claims

Abstract

A data processing system is disclosed that includes an application server and a wallet application provided by the application server. The application server is in communication with a plurality of computing nodes hosting a distributed ledger. The distributed ledger includes a plurality of user accounts and a plurality of asset contracts. The wallet application provides a wallet associated with a first user account. The wallet application is adapted to transfer a cryptocurreny from the wallet to a first asset contract.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A data processing system comprising:
 an application server in communication with a plurality of computing nodes hosting a distributed ledger, wherein the distributed ledger includes a plurality of user accounts and a plurality of asset contracts; and   a wallet application provided by the application server, wherein the wallet application provides a wallet associated with a first user account, wherein the wallet application is adapted to transfer a cryptocurreny from the wallet to a first asset contract.   
     
     
         2 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein the distributed ledger is a blockchain. 
     
     
         3 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein the wallet is associated with an address on the distributed ledger. 
     
     
         4 . The data processing system according to  claim 3 , wherein the address is associated with the first user account. 
     
     
         5 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein the wallet application is adapted to deposit cryptocurreny received from the first asset contract into the wallet. 
     
     
         6 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein a second user account verifies the transfer of the cryptocurrency by the first user account to the first asset contract. 
     
     
         7 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein the application server includes access management routines and blockchain routines. 
     
     
         8 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , wherein the first asset contract includes a certification structure to certify that the first user account is associated with the cryptocurrency. 
     
     
         9 . The data processing system according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a certification application provided by the application server, wherein the certification application is configured to certify a transaction for entry on to the distributed ledger.   
     
     
         10 . A data processing system, comprising:
 an application server in communication with a plurality of computing nodes hosting a distributed ledger, wherein the distributed ledger includes a plurality of user accounts and a plurality of asset contracts; and   a certification application provided by the application server, wherein the certification application is configured for a first user account of the plurality of user accounts to certify a transaction for entry on to the distributed ledger.   
     
     
         11 . The data processing system according to  claim 10 , wherein the transaction is a transfer of cryptocurrency from a second user account to one of a third user account and a first asset contract. 
     
     
         12 . The data processing system according to  claim 10 , wherein the certification application records the transaction to the distributed ledger only after a certification decision. 
     
     
         13 . The data processing system according to  claim 12 , wherein the certification decision can be revoked. 
     
     
         14 . A data processing system, comprising:
 an application server in communication with a plurality of computing nodes hosting a distributed ledger, wherein the distributed ledger includes a plurality of user accounts and a plurality of asset contracts; and   a certification application provided by the application server, wherein the certification application is configured to certify a transaction for entry on to the distributed ledger.   
     
     
         15 . The data processing system according to  claim 14 , wherein the transaction is a transfer of cryptocurrency from a second user account to one of a third user account and a first asset contract. 
     
     
         16 . The data processing system according to  claim 14 , wherein the certification application records the transaction to the distributed ledger only after a certification decision. 
     
     
         17 . The data processing system according to  claim 16 , wherein the certification decision can be revoked.
