Systems and methods for synchronous group device transmission of live streaming media and related user interfaces
Abstract
Systems and methods for interacting with an enhanced live multimedia stream are disclosed. One method may include: presenting a plurality of live media streaming options, wherein at least a subset of the plurality of live media streaming options comprise one or more features enabling enhanced interaction between users; receiving an indication to join a general virtual media streaming session associated with one of the subset; retrieving a first user profile associated with a first user; connecting the first user profile to the general virtual media streaming session; transmitting, to the first user device via a multimedia streaming platform, the live multimedia stream playing in the virtual media streaming session; identifying one or more points in the live multimedia stream at which to implement the one or more features enabling enhanced interaction between users; and implementing at least one of the one or more features in the virtual media streaming session.

1 . A computer-implemented method for interacting with a live multimedia stream, the computer-implemented method comprising operations including:
presenting, on a multimedia streaming platform associated with a computer system, the live multimedia stream in a general virtual media streaming session; implementing, using one or more processors of the computer system and responsive to detecting a predetermined indication, one or more features associated with a joint experience in the general virtual media streaming session, wherein the one or more features enable enhanced interaction between devices connected to the general virtual media streaming session; generating, using the one or more processors and responsive to the detecting, one or more digital elements associated with the one or more features, wherein the one or more digital elements are positioned over at least a portion of the live multimedia stream; detecting, at the multimedia streaming platform, interaction input with the joint experience from one or more devices associated with one or more participants; and adjusting, responsive to the detecting, a characteristic associated with the one or more digital elements.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the predetermined indication comprises identifying occurrence of a predetermined event in the live multimedia stream.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the joint experience is a digital wave activity and wherein the one or more features include a plurality of digital avatars, wherein each of the digital avatars is associated with a participant of the joint experience.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the adjusting the characteristic comprises sequentially highlighting each of the digital avatars based on the interaction input.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , further comprising:
identifying a number of the participants in the general virtual media streaming session; determining whether the number of the participants exceeds a threshold; and reducing, responsive to determining that the number of the participants exceeds the threshold number, a number of the digital avatars for presentation in the general virtual media streaming session.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the joint experience is a cheering activity and wherein the one or more features include a digital support meter.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the adjusting the characteristic comprises imparting a visual effect on one or more digital support bars of the digital support meter based on the interaction input.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the joint experience is a reaction activity and wherein the one or more features include selectable emoticons.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the adjusting the characteristic comprises animating the selectable emoticon.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , further comprising adjusting an appearance of the selectable emoticons based upon an event occurring in the live multimedia stream.
11 . A system for interacting with a live multimedia stream, the system comprising:
a processor; a database; and a server in network communication with the database, the server configured to perform operations including:
presenting, on a multimedia streaming platform associated with the system, the live multimedia stream in a general virtual media streaming session;
implementing, using the processor of the system and responsive to detecting a predetermined indication, one or more features associated with a joint experience in the general virtual media streaming session, wherein the one or more features enable enhanced interaction between devices connected to the general virtual media streaming session;
generating, using the processor and responsive to the detecting, one or more digital elements associated with the one or more features, wherein the one or more digital elements are positioned over at least a portion of the live multimedia stream;
detecting, at the multimedia streaming platform, interaction input with the joint experience from one or more devices associated with one or more participants; and
adjusting, responsive to the detecting, a characteristic associated with the one or more digital elements.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the detecting the predetermined indication comprises identifying occurrence of a predetermined event in the live multimedia stream.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the joint experience is a digital wave activity and wherein the one or more features include a plurality of digital avatars, wherein each of the digital avatars is associated with a participant of the joint experience.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the adjusting the characteristic comprises sequentially highlighting each of the digital avatars based on the interaction input.
15 . The system of claim 13 , further comprising:
identifying a number of the participants in the general virtual media streaming session; determining whether the number of the participants exceeds a threshold; and reducing, responsive to determining that the number of the participants exceeds the threshold number, a number of the digital avatars for presentation in the general virtual media streaming session.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the joint experience is a cheering activity and wherein the one or more features include a digital support meter.
17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the adjusting the characteristic comprises imparting a visual effect on one or more digital support bars of the digital support meter based on the interaction input.
18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the joint experience is a reaction activity and wherein the one or more features include selectable emoticons.
19 . The system of claim 18 , further comprising adjusting an appearance of the selectable emoticons based upon an event occurring in the live multimedia stream.
20 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a server in network communication with at least one database, cause the server to perform operations comprising:
presenting, on a multimedia streaming platform associated with a computer system, a live multimedia stream in a general virtual media streaming session; implementing, using one or more processors of the computer system and responsive to detecting a predetermined indication, one or more features associated with a joint experience in the general virtual media streaming session, wherein the one or more features enable enhanced interaction between devices connected to the general virtual media streaming session; generating, using the one or more processors and responsive to the detecting, one or more digital elements associated with the one or more features, wherein the one or more digital elements are positioned over at least a portion of the live multimedia stream; detecting, at the multimedia streaming platform, interaction input with the joint experience from one or more devices associated with one or more participants; and adjusting, responsive to the detecting, a characteristic associated with the one or more digital elements.Cited by (0)
