Abstract

A directional guide for a spreader bar includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis. The body includes a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin. The first and second fins are coupled to the body and are configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving. Grooves are formed in the body. The grooves include a first groove extending along the longitudinal axis of the body, a second groove crossing the first groove and a third groove crossing the first groove. A keel is rotatably coupled to the body. The keel is configured to rotate between the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove. The keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in water through which the body is moving.

Claims

1 - 12 . (canceled)

         13 . A fishing sidetracker, comprising:
a body including a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin, the first and second fins coupled to the body and configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving, wherein the body defines a bottom surface; at least one groove formed in the bottom surface of the body; a keel rotatably coupled with the bottom surface of the body, wherein the keel defines a protrusion, wherein the protrusion defines a height extending away from the bottom surface of the body, wherein the protrusion is configured to receive at least one screw therein, wherein the at least one groove is configured to guide a rotational position of the keel with respect the body; and at least one screw extending within the protrusion along a direction parallel to a height of the keel, wherein the keel is configured to be rotated with respect to the body between a first rotational position and a second rotational position while remaining connected to the body by the at least one screw, wherein the keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in the water through which the body is moving.

14 . The fishing sidetracker of claim 13 , wherein the keel defines at least one lateral surface, and wherein the protrusion extends from the at least one lateral surface of the keel.

15 . The fishing sidetracker of claim 14 , wherein the protrusion of the keel is configured to contact the bottom surface of the body.

16 . The directional guide of claim 13 , wherein the at least one groove includes a first groove and a second groove crossing the first groove.

17 . The direction guide of claim 16 , wherein the first groove and the second groove form an X-shape.

18 . The directional guide of claim 13 , wherein the body has a torpedo shape.

19 . The directional guide of claim 13 , further including a hole formed through the body, the hole configured to secure fishing lures to the body.

20 . The directional guide of claim 13 , further including a hole extending through the central longitudinal axis of the body.

         21 . A fishing sidetracker, comprising:
a body including a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin, the first and second fins coupled to the body and configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving, wherein the body defines a bottom surface; at least one groove formed in the bottom surface of the body; a keel rotatably coupled with the body, wherein the keel defines at least one lateral surface and a protrusion extending from the at least one lateral surface, wherein the protrusion has a height extending along the at least one lateral surface of the keel, wherein the at least one groove is configured to guide a rotational position of the keel with respect the body; and at least one screw extending within the protrusion along a direction parallel to the height of the protrusion, wherein the keel is configured to be rotated with respect to the body between a first rotational position and a second rotational position while remaining connected to the body by the at least one screw, wherein the keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in the water through which the body is moving.

22 . The directional guide of claim 21 , wherein the at least one groove includes a first groove and a second groove crossing the first groove.

23 . The direction guide of claim 22 , wherein the first groove and the second groove form an X-shape.

24 . The directional guide of claim 21 , wherein the body has a torpedo shape.

25 . The directional guide of claim 21 , further including a hole formed through the body, the hole configured to secure fishing lures to the body.

26 . The directional guide of claim 21 , further including a hole extending through the central longitudinal axis of the body.

         27 . A fishing sidetracker, comprising:
a body including a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin, the first and second fins coupled to the body and configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving, wherein the body defines a bottom surface; at least one groove formed in the bottom surface of the body; a keel rotatably coupled with the body, wherein the keel extends away from the bottom surface of the body, wherein the keel defines at least one lateral surface and a protrusion extending from the at least one lateral surface, wherein the at least one groove is configured to guide a rotational position of the keel with respect the body; and at least one screw extending within the protrusion along a direction orthogonal to the bottom surface of the body to rotatably couple the keel with the body, wherein the keel is configured to be rotated with respect to the body between a first rotational position and a second rotational position while remaining connected to the body by the at least one screw, wherein the keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in the water through which the body is moving.
