Abstract

A submergible stool includes a body having a top, a bottom spaced from the top, and a sidewall extending between the top and the bottom and defining an enclosed interior cavity extending between the top, the bottom, and the sidewall. A first aperture is formed in the sidewall proximate the bottom and extends from the enclosed interior cavity to an exterior of the stool. A second aperture is formed in the sidewall proximate the top and extends from the enclosed interior cavity to an exterior of the stool. The apertures are positioned such that when the stool is placed in a body of water, water will flow into the interior cavity through the first aperture, air will be forced out of the second aperture, and the stool will sink to a bottom of the body of water in an upright position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A submergible device comprising:
a body including a top, a bottom spaced from the top, and a sidewall extending between the top and the bottom; an adjustable leg assembly configured to allow the device to be seated flush on an inclined surface while the body is in a upright vertical position; a weight configured to cause the device to sink to a bottom of the body of water in an upright position.

2 . The submergible device of claim 1 , wherein the adjustable leg assembly comprises:
a base received in an aperture formed in a bottom surface of the body, the weight being positioned on the base.

3 . The submergible device of claim 3 , further comprising:
a plurality of columns of apertures formed in the body; a plurality of columns of apertures formed in the base, a plurality of pins, each pin being received in a corresponding pair of apertures in the body so as to allow the body be in the upright vertical position when it is seated on the inclined surface.

4 . The submergible device of claim 2 , wherein the base includes an annular recess, the weight being seated in the annular recess.

5 . The submergible device of claim 4 , wherein the weight is ring shaped.

6 . The submergible device of claim 4 , wherein the weight is a ring shaped container containing weighted elements.

7 . The submergible device of claim 1 , wherein the adjustable leg assembly comprises:
a plurality of legs, each leg including a base with exterior threads; and a plurality of covers, each cover including internal threads configured to mate with exterior threads of a corresponding leg such that each cover can be threaded onto the corresponding leg an amount that allows the body be in the upright vertical position when it is seated on the inclined surface.

8 . The submergible device of claim 7 , wherein the adjustable leg assembly includes four legs and four covers.

9 . The submergible device of claim 7 , further comprising:
a cavity formed in a bottom of the body, the weight being seated in the cavity; a cover configured to seal the cavity; and a removable plug formed in the cover.

10 . The submergible device of claim 9 , wherein the weight comprises a plurality of weighted elements.

11 . The submergible device of claim 9 , further comprising a slot formed in the plug.

12 . The submergible device of claim 1 , wherein the adjustable leg assembly comprises:
a plurality of recesses formed in a bottom of the body; a plurality of spheres, each sphere being received in a corresponding recess, a diameter of at least one sphere being different from a diameter of at least one other spheres such that the body will be in the upright vertical position when it is seated on the inclined surface.

13 . The submergible device of claim 12 , wherein the spheres are formed of rubber.

14 . The submergible device of claim 1 , wherein the adjustable leg assembly comprises:
a base pivotally secured to the body.

15 . The submergible device of claim 14 , wherein the base is pivotally secured to the body with a ball and socket.

16 . The submergible device of claim 14 , wherein a bottom surface of the body and a top surface of the base are angled with respect to a longitudinal axis of the body such that they abut one another as the base is rotated with respect to the body thereby allowing the body to be in the upright vertical position when it is seated on the inclined surface.

17 . The submergible device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a base; and a threaded shaft received in a threaded recess in a bottom of the body, wherein the leg assembly comprises a plurality of legs extending from the base.

18 . The submergible device of claim 17 , wherein the legs are threaded and are received in corresponding threaded recesses in a bottom of the base.

19 . The submergible device of claim 17 , wherein the legs comprise a set of legs having different lengths.

20 . The submergible device of claim 17 , wherein the weight comprises a plurality of weighted elements positioned in the base.
