Injection system and method
Abstract
An injection system includes a syringe body defining a proximal opening at a proximal end thereof and a distal needle interface at a distal end thereof. The system also includes proximal and distal stopper members disposed in the syringe body, forming respective proximal and distal drug chambers. The system further includes a plunger member configured to be manually manipulated to insert the proximal stopper member relative to the syringe body. Moreover, the system includes a fluid conveying assembly including a penetrating member configured to penetrate the distal stopper member to fluidly couple the proximal and distal drug chambers, a distal exit tube, and a transfer member disposed at least partially around a portion of the penetrating member and defining a fluid passage. A distal end of the penetrating member is disposed in the distal exit tube.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . An injection system, comprising:
a molded body member having a retention ledge at a distal end thereof; and a needle hub assembly coupled to the retention ledge at the distal end of the molded body member, the needle hub assembly comprising a needle hub coupled to the retention ledge, and a needle coupled to the needle hub, wherein the needle hub has a pair of latches disposed at a proximal end thereof and configured to interfere with the retention ledge to couple the needle hub to the retention ledge of the molded body.
3 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising a gasket disposed between the distal end of the molded body member and an inner surface of the needle hub.
4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the body member is molded from Cyclic Olefin Copolymer or Cyclic Olefin Polymer.
5 . An injection system, comprising:
a molded body member having a needle coupling member at a distal end thereof; and a needle hub assembly coupled to the coupling member at the distal end of the molded body member, the needle hub assembly comprising a needle hub coupled to the coupling member, and a needle coupled to the needle hub, wherein the needle hub has a retaining ring disposed at a proximal end thereof and configured to couple the needle hub to the coupling member of the molded body.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the retaining ring comprises a plurality of teeth configured to flex to allow passage of the needle coupling member in a distal direction and to dig into the needle coupling member to prevent movement in a proximal direction.
7 . The system of claim 5 , further comprising a gasket disposed between the distal end of the molded body member and an inner surface of the needle hub.
8 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the body member is molded from Cyclic Olefin Copolymer or Cyclic Olefin Polymer.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
