Systems and methods for building management system commissioning on an application

Abstract

A system for building management system commissioning on an application includes one or more memory devices configured to store instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to host a building management system commissioning workflow on an application server; provide data indicating commissioning activities defined by the building management system commissioning workflow from the application server to a user device for display on a user interface; dynamically update a commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow hosted on the application server responsive to data received at the application server from at least one of the user device or a remote device at the building site communicatively connected to the application server; and initiate an automated action based on the commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow application.

         21 . A method for commissioning a first building management system in communication with equipment controllers associated with a building, the method comprising:
 hosting a virtual building management system commissioning workflow on a first server;   exchanging equipment data and commands between the virtual building management system and the equipment controllers; and   dynamically updating the equipment data using a commissioning application on a second server via a gateway coupled to at least one of controllers.   
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , the equipment data and commands are exchanged across a virtual secured private network. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the gateway is a mobile device access point gateway. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the first server is in communication with a building controller via a secured panel coupled to at least one equipment controller. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 24  wherein the secured panel comprises a cellular modem for communicating with the first server. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein data indicating commissioning activities defined by a building management system commissioning workflow is provided to a user device for display as a unified visual depiction of performance indicators, wherein commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow comprises an indication of an identification, a configuration, a status, a state, a connectivity condition, a test result, and an operational phase of one or more building equipment products installed at the building. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein a remote device at the building comprises a communications gateway communicatively connected to one or more building equipment products installed at a building site. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 27 , wherein the data received from the at least one of the user device or the remote device at the building is real time data. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein a commissioning workflow indicating sequenced steps for installation, network verification, configuring, loading, and point verification of building equipment at a building site is provided. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the first server provides a command to a unit of building equipment at a building site responsive to a user input. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the second server synchronizes dynamic commissioning activity status on a user interface with workflow data collected by a mobile access point at a building site. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the gateway is a mobile device access point gateway having a wired connection to one of a plurality of building controllers and a secure wireless connection to the first server. 
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the second server provides updates via a secure WiFi connection. 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the user interface comprises one or more views of system version control, system and equipment library documents, control system document markups, and synchronized views of equipment status throughout a building lifecycle. 
     
     
         35 . A system for commissioning a building management system on an application, the system comprising one or more memory devices configured to store instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
 host a building management system commissioning workflow on an application server;   provide data indicating commissioning activities defined by the building management system commissioning workflow from the application server to a user device for display on a user interface of the user device;   dynamically update a commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow hosted via a gateway coupled to at least one of controllers; and   initiate an automated action based on the commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow hosted on the application server.   
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the building management system commissioning workflow comprises on line activities and on site activities. 
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the data indicating the commissioning activities defined by the building management system commissioning workflow is provided to the user device for display as a unified visual depiction of performance indicators. 
     
     
         38 . The system of  claim 35 , wherein the commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities in the building management system commissioning workflow comprises an indication of an identification, a configuration, a status, a state, a connectivity condition, a test result, and an operational phase of one or more building equipment products installed at a building site. 
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 35 , further comprising a remote device, wherein the remote device at a building site comprises a communications gateway communicatively connected to one or more building equipment products installed at the building site. 
     
     
         40 . A system for commissioning a building management system on an application, the system comprising:
 a building management system commissioning workflow application hosted on an application server; and   at least one of a user device or a remote device at a building site configured to be communicatively connected to the application server, wherein data indicating commissioning activities defined by the building management system commissioning workflow application is provided from the application server to the user device for display on a user interface of the user device, wherein an automated action is initiated based on a commissioning activity status of the commissioning activities defined by the building management system commissioning workflow application, and wherein the data is updated using a commissioning application via a gateway coupled to at least one of controllers.
