Abstract

A method is provided for navigating in a display screen by way of a control surface including a step of measuring: —a data item, termed position, relating to a position targeted, on the control surface, by a remote control object positioned opposite the control surface, and —a data item, termed vertical distance, relating to the distance between the at least one remote control object and the control surface; and a drive step, carrying out, as a function of the vertical distance measured: —a displacement, and/or —an adjustment of a parameter relating to a displacement; of at least one part of a zone and/or of a symbol displayed on the display screen and chosen as a function of the target position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for navigating in a user interface, the method comprising:
displaying a first list including a first plurality of symbols in the user interface that is spaced apart from a remote command object along a first axis; detecting a change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis; and in response to detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis:
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a first distance from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data; and
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a second distance, different from the first distance, from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a second amount of scrolling different from the first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remote command object includes a portion of a hand of a user.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the remote command object includes a device.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second distance from the user interface along the first axis is greater than the first distance from the user interface along the first axis and wherein the second amount of scrolling is less than the first amount of scrolling.

         5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
scrolling the first plurality of symbols by the first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data further includes scrolling the first plurality of symbols with a first speed of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data, and scrolling the first plurality of symbols by the second amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data further includes scrolling the first plurality of symbols with a second speed of scrolling, different from the first speed of scrolling, in accordance with the change in position data.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the second distance from the user interface along the first axis is greater than the first distance from the user interface along the first axis and wherein the second speed of scrolling is less than the first speed of scrolling.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis includes movement in a first direction, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a first amount of scrolling or the second amount of scrolling includes scrolling in a first respective direction parallel to the first direction or a second respective direction parallel to the first direction, and the first respective direction is opposite the second respective direction.

         8 . The method of claim 1 , comprising:
after scrolling the first plurality of symbols by the first amount of scrolling or the second amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data:
detecting a second change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis; and
in response to detecting the second change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis:
in accordance with detecting the second change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a third distance from the user interface along the first axis, different from the first distance and the second distance, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a third amount of scrolling, different from the first amount of scrolling and the second amount of scrolling, in accordance with the second change in position data.

9 . A device for navigating in a user interface, comprising:
measurement circuitry configured to detect a change in position data corresponding to movement of a remote command object; and control circuitry configured to cause:
 displaying a first list including a first plurality of symbols in the user interface that is spaced apart from the remote command object along a first axis;
detecting, via the measurement circuitry, a change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis; and
in response to detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis:
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a first distance from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data; and
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a second distance, different from the first distance, from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a second amount of scrolling different from the first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data.

10 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform operations comprising:
displaying a first list including a first plurality of symbols in a user interface that is spaced apart from a remote command object along a first axis; detecting a change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis; and in response to detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis:
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a first distance from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data; and
in accordance with detecting the change in position data corresponding to movement of the remote command object perpendicular to the first axis while at a second distance, different from the first distance, from the user interface along the first axis, scrolling the first plurality of symbols by a second amount of scrolling different from the first amount of scrolling in accordance with the change in position data.
