Abstract

The present invention relates to a refrigerator, and particularly, to a refrigerator characterized by comprising: a main body which includes an outer casing and an inner casing, wherein the outer casing has an opening formed in a back panel thereof, and the inner casing is provided within the outer casing and provides, in an upper part thereof, an ice-making compartment and a refrigerator compartment, and a freezer compartment in a lower part thereof; an evaporator casing which is provided between the outer casing and the inner casing and forms an installation space in communication with the ice-making compartment and the opening; an evaporator which is installed in the installation space via the opening and provides cold air to the ice-making compartment; and an insulating cover which opens and closes the opening. Accordingly, the evaporator can be installed from the outside of the back panel of the main body, thus allowing the installation space of the evaporator casing to remain securely sealed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A refrigerator comprising:
a main body including an outer case having an opening in a rear wall and an inner case provided inside the outer case, wherein an upper part of the inner case provides an ice making compartment and a refrigerator compartment, and a lower part of the inner case provides a freezer compartment; an evaporator case provided between the outer case and the inner case, the evaporator case having an installation space communicating with the ice making compartment and the opening; an evaporator installed in the installation space through the opening and configured to provide a cold air to the ice making compartment; and a thermal insulation cover configured to open and close the opening.

2 . The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein a first packing and a second packing are respectively provided at a front portion and a rear portion of the thermal insulation cover, and
wherein the first packing and the second packing are pressurized by and are in close contact with an inner pressing portion and an outer pressing portion formed at the evaporator case.

3 . The refrigerator of claim 2 , wherein the first packing is inserted into a packing groove formed in the front portion of the thermal insulation cover, and
wherein the second packing is inserted to contact a rear portion of an outer peripheral surface of the thermal insulation cover.

4 . The refrigerator of claim 3 , wherein a portion of the first packing protrudes to an outside of the packing groove, and
wherein the first packing is pressed by the inner pressing portion and is compressed inside the packing groove.

5 . The refrigerator of claim 3 , wherein a portion of a rear surface of the second packing is in close contact with a front surface of an inner cover flange of the thermal insulation cover.

6 . The refrigerator of claim 5 , wherein a remaining portion of the rear surface of the second packing is disposed to cover a packing adhesion groove formed in the front surface of the inner cover flange.

7 . The refrigerator of claim 6 , wherein the second packing is compressed by the inner cover flange and the rear wall of the outer case, and at the same time is pressed by the outer pressing portion and is inserted into the packing adhesion groove.

8 . The refrigerator of claim 5 , wherein cover handles protruding to a rear side are provided on a rear surface of the inner cover flange.

9 . The refrigerator of claim 8 , wherein the cover handles are formed symmetrically at both ends with respect to a center of the thermal insulation cover.

10 . The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein a heating means generating heat is installed in the evaporator case.

11 . The refrigerator of claim 10 , wherein the heating means is provided adjacent to a rear end of the evaporator case and is installed along an outer peripheral surface of the evaporator case.

12 . The refrigerator of claim 10 , wherein the heating means includes:
a heating wire provided to surround an outer peripheral surface of the evaporator case and electrically connected to an external power to generate heat; and an adhesive member attached to the outer peripheral surface of the evaporator case while covering the heating wire and configured to fix the heating wire so that the heating wire is not detached from the outer peripheral surface of the evaporator case.

13 . The refrigerator of claim 10 , wherein the heating means operates at all times to generate heat.

14 . The refrigerator of claim 10 , wherein the heating means operates periodically according to a user's setting to generate heat.

15 . The refrigerator of claim 10 , wherein the heating means senses water droplets condensed on the evaporator case or an ambient temperature of the evaporator case and automatically operates according to a result of sensing to generate heat, in order to remove water droplets condensed on the evaporator case or prevent water droplets from forming on the evaporator case.
