Foldable cabinet assembly
Abstract
A device is disclosed including a foldable storage cabinet having panels and doors that are connected with hinges to facilitate folding and unfolding for ease of packaging, transportation and deployment. One or more shelves are coupled to the inside of a U-shaped back-panel with hinges to allow folding the shelves into the inside of the back-panel. Two side-panels connected to the back-panel can be folded into the inside of the back-panel. The doors can be folded into the back-panel together and in line with their respective side-panels. Doors can also be folded into their respective side-panels before folding the door/side-panel assembly into the back-panel. Top panel is detached from the rest of the cabinet and can be snapped into place at the end of the unfolding process.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A foldable storage cabinet comprising:
a U-shaped back-panel having a middle section, a first side-section, and a second side-section; a first side-panel hingedly connected to the first side-section of the U-shaped back-panel; a second side-panel hingedly connected to the second side-section of the U-shaped back-panel; a bottom panel hingedly connected to a bottom end of an inside of the back section of the U-shaped back-panel; and a top panel to connect to a top end of the U-shaped back panel; wherein the foldable storage cabinet is enclosed in and detachably attached to a multi-layered package that when a layer of the multi-layered package is pulled away, the foldable storage cabinet is unfolded.
2 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the first side-section and the second side-section of the U-shaped back-panel have different widths to allow for folding the first side-panel and the second side-panel on top of each other into a concave space of the U-shaped back-panel.
3 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , further comprising one or more shelves hingedly connected to the inside of the back section of the U-shaped back-panel.
4 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the top panel is hingedly connected to the back-panel at the top end.
5 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of legs coupled to the back and side-panels at the bottom end.
6 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 5 , wherein the legs are fitted with wheels to facilitate relocation of the folding storage cabinet
7 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , further comprising:
a first door pivotably connected to the first side-panel; a second door pivotably connected to the second side-panel.
8 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 1 , wherein the first side-section and the second side-section back-panel have the same widths to allow for folding the first side-panel and the second side-panel side by side into the concave part of the U-shaped back-panel.
9 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 8 , further comprising a reinforcement bar coupled with the first side-section and the second side-section.
10 . A foldable storage cabinet comprising:
a back-panel; a first side-panel foldably coupled with the back-panel; a second side-panel foldably coupled with the back-panel; a plurality of shelves foldably coupled with the back-panel; a first door foldably coupled with the first side-panel; and a second door foldably coupled with the second side-panel; wherein assembly and disassembly of the foldable storage cabinet is performed by folding and unfolding, respectively, the back-panel, the first side-panel, the second side-panel, the plurality of shelves, the first door, and the second door with respect to each other, and wherein the foldable storage cabinet is enclosed in and detachably attached to a multi-layered package that when a layer of the multi-layered package is pulled away, the foldable storage cabinet is unfolded.
11 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 10 , further comprising a top-panel coupled with the back-panel and the first and second side-panels.
12 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 10 , further comprising a support bar to reinforce the foldable storage cabinet.
13 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 10 , wherein the first side-panel and the second side-panel are coupled with the back-plane using piano hinges.
14 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 11 , wherein top panel is hingedly connected to the back-panel at a top end of the foldable storage cabinet.
15 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 10 , further comprising a plurality of legs fixed to the back-panel and the first side-panel and the second panel at a bottom end of the foldable storage cabinet.
16 . The foldable storage cabinet of claim 15 , wherein the legs are fitted with wheels for ease of relocation.
17 . A method of unpacking a foldable storage cabinet, the method comprising:
enclosing the foldable storage cabinet in a multi-layered package, the multi-layered package including at least a first layer and a second layer; unfolding, in one motion, the first layer of the multi-layered package to unfold a first side-panel of the foldable storage cabinet, wherein the first layer is temporarily attached to the first side-panel; unfolding, in one motion, the second layer of the multi-layered package to unfold a second side-panel of the foldable storage cabinet, wherein the second layer is temporarily attached to the second side-panel; and detaching the layers of the multi-layered package from the corresponding panels of the foldable storage cabinet.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising using rip cords to cut and release the first layer and the second layer of the multi-layered package.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising following printed indicators on each layer of the multi-layered package to open and unfold the multi-layered package using the rip cords.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein unfolding, in one motion, the first layer of the multi-layered package comprises unfolding the first layer of the multi-layered package that is temporarily attached to the first side-panel of the foldable storage cabinet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
