Abstract
A device is provided that indicates to a user that the user is properly maintaining a sufficient amount of his or her weight on the lead foot during the course of a golf swing, thereby effecting an optimal golf swing.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A weight distribution indicator comprising:
a front end, a rear end, a top face extending between said front and rear ends and a bottom face extending between said front and rear ends, wherein said top face has a lead foot placement site proximal to said front end and a trail foot placement site proximal to said rear end and said bottom face has a bottom front plane aligned beneath said lead foot placement site and a bottom rear plane aligned beneath said trail foot placement site and further wherein said bottom front plane has a front edge and a rear edge and said bottom rear plane has a front edge and a rear edge; and a pivot axis on said bottom face between said bottom front and rear planes, wherein said bottom front and rear planes are rotatable about said pivot axis in opposite directions relative to each other and said trail foot placement site is positioned a greater distance lengthwise from said pivot axis than is said lead foot placement site.
2 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 1 , wherein said top face is a continuous unitary plane.
3 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 1 , wherein said bottom front plane and said bottom rear plane intersect on a line forming said pivot axis.
4 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 1 , wherein said pivot axis is formed by an intersection of said rear edge of said bottom front plane and said front edge of said bottom rear plane.
5 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 1 , wherein said bottom rear plane is oriented upward at a rearward angle of incline.
6 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 5 , wherein said bottom front plane is oriented upward at a forward angle of incline.
7 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 1 , wherein said pivot axis is on a base protruding downwardly from said bottom face.
8 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 7 , wherein said pivot axis is a rearward pivot axis, said base has a base bottom face, a base front face and a base rear face, said base is bounded by said rear edge of said bottom front plane and said front edge of said bottom rear plane, said base bottom face and said base rear face intersect one another to form said rearward pivot axis and said base bottom face and said base front face intersect one another to form a forward pivot axis.
9 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 7 , wherein said bottom rear plane is oriented upward at a rearward angle of incline.
10 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 9 , wherein said bottom front plane is oriented substantially parallel to said top face.
11 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 8 , wherein said base bottom face is oriented substantially parallel to said top face.
12 . A weight distribution indicator comprising:
a front end, a rear end, a top face extending between said front and rear ends and a bottom face extending between said front and rear ends, wherein said top face has a lead foot placement site thereon proximal to said front end and a trail foot placement site thereon proximal to said rear end and said bottom face has a bottom front plane aligned beneath said lead foot placement site and a bottom rear plane aligned beneath said trail foot placement site and further wherein said bottom front plane has a front edge and a rear edge and said bottom rear plane has a front edge and a rear edge; and a pivot axis on said bottom face formed by an intersection of said rear edge of said bottom front plane and said front edge of said bottom rear plane, wherein said bottom front and rear planes are rotatable about said pivot axis in opposite directions relative to each other, each of said lead and trail foot placement sites has a longitudinal centerline, the horizontal distance between said pivot axis and said longitudinal centerline of said lead foot placement site defines a forward leverage distance, the horizontal distance between said pivot axis and said longitudinal centerline of said trail foot placement site defines a rearward leverage distance and said rearward leverage distance is greater than said forward leverage distance.
13 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 12 , wherein said top face is a continuous unitary plane.
14 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 12 , wherein said bottom rear plane is oriented upward at a rearward angle of incline and said bottom forward plane is oriented upward at a forward angle of incline.
15 . A weight distribution indicator comprising:
a front end, a rear end, a top face extending between said front and rear ends and a bottom face extending between said front and rear ends, wherein said top face has a lead foot placement site positioned thereon proximal to said front end and a trail foot placement site positioned thereon proximal to said rear end and said bottom face has a bottom front plane aligned beneath said lead foot placement site and a bottom rear plane aligned beneath said trail foot placement site and further wherein said bottom front plane has a front edge and a rear edge and said bottom rear plane has a front edge and a rear edge; and a base protruding downwardly from said bottom face, wherein said base has a base bottom face, a base front face and a base rear face, said base is bounded by said rear edge of said bottom front plane and said front edge of said bottom rear plane, said base bottom face and said base rear face intersect one another to form a rearward pivot axis and said bottom front and rear planes are rotatable about said rearward pivot axis in opposite directions relative to each other.
16 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 15 , wherein each of said lead and trail foot placement sites has a longitudinal centerline, the horizontal distance between said rearward pivot axis and said longitudinal centerline of said lead foot placement site defines a forward leverage distance, the horizontal distance between said rearward pivot axis and said longitudinal centerline of said trail foot placement site defines a rearward leverage distance and said rearward leverage distance is greater than said forward leverage distance.
17 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 15 , wherein said base bottom face and said base front face intersect one another to form a forward pivot axis about which said bottom front and rear planes are rotatable in opposite directions relative to each other.
18 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 15 , wherein said bottom front plane is oriented substantially parallel to said top face.
19 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 15 , wherein said base bottom face is oriented substantially parallel to said top face.
20 . The weight distribution indicator of claim 15 , wherein said bottom rear plane is oriented upward at a rearward angle of incline.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
