Stabilization System for Ground Based Weight Resistance Exercises
Abstract
A stabilization system for performing a plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises on a resistance training system. The stabilization system includes a first stabilization assembly and a second stabilization assembly. The first stabilization assembly includes a first support positioned and configured to stabilize a first lower body part of a user during the performance of one of the plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises. The first stabilization assembly is configured such that a horizontal position of the first support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system. The second stabilization assembly includes a second support positioned and configured to stabilize a second lower body part of the user during the performance of one of the plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises with the second support configured to be positioned below the first support of the first stabilization assembly.

a first support post having a proximal end and a distal end, the first support being secured to the first support post adjacent the distal end of the first support post, and
an adapter for operatively connecting the first support post to the central stabilization frame member between the proximal and distal end of the first support post such that the horizontal position of the first support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system by adjusting a horizontal position of the first support post with respect to the central stabilization frame member.
8 . The stabilization system of claim 6 wherein the central stabilization frame member is configured to adjustably receive the second stabilization assembly.
9 . The stabilization system of claim 8 wherein the second stabilization assembly further includes:
a second support post having a proximal end and a distal end, the second support being secured to the second support post adjacent the distal end of the second support post, and
an adapter for operatively connecting the second support post to the central stabilization frame member between the proximal and distal end of the second support post such that a horizontal position of the second support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system by adjusting a horizontal position of the second support post with respect to the central stabilization frame member.
10 . The stabilization system of claim 1 wherein each of the first support and the second support includes one or more roller pads.
11 . A stabilization system for performing a plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises on a resistance training system, the stabilization system comprising:
a first stabilization assembly having a first support positioned and configured to stabilize a first lower body part of a user during the performance of one of the plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises, the first stabilization assembly configured such that a horizontal position and a vertical position of the first support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system; and a second stabilization assembly having a second support positioned and configured to stabilize a second lower body part of the user during the performance of one of the plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises, the second stabilization assembly configured such that a horizontal position of the second support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system independently from the second support, the second support configured to be positioned below the first support of the first stabilization assembly.
12 . The stabilization system of claim 11 wherein the first lower body part is selected from the group consisting of the knees, thigh, upper leg, hips and combinations thereof of the user and the second lower body part is the feet of the user.
13 . The stabilization system of claim 11 wherein the second stabilization assembly is configured such that a vertical position of the first support is adjustable with respect to the resistance training system.
14 . The stabilization system of claim 11 wherein the second lower body part is one or more feet of the user, the stabilization system further comprising a platform configured to be connected to the resistance training system such that the one or more feet of the user is disposed between the platform and the second support during the performance of the plurality of different ground-based weight resistance exercises.
15 . The stabilization system of claim 14 further comprising one or more handlebars extending up from the platform.
16 . The stabilization system of claim 11 further comprising a stabilization frame for connecting the stabilization system to the resistance training system, the stabilization frame including a central stabilization frame member configured to adjustably receive the first stabilization assembly and the second stabilization assembly.
17 . The stabilization system of claim 16 wherein:
the first stabilization assembly further includes a first support post having a proximal end and a distal end and a first adapter for operatively connecting the first support post to the central stabilization frame member, the first adapter including a horizontal guide element and a vertical guide element, the horizontal guide element configured to adjustably receive the first support post between the proximal end and the distal end of the first support post,
