Abstract
A false eyelash system includes a false eyelash and an applicator. The false eyelash has an elongate bridge with a plurality of fibers extending laterally therefrom. The bridge has a plurality of slots sized to receive keratinous fibers therethrough. A channel extends axially through the bridge is sized and configured to receive an elongate placement element of an applicator.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
1 . A package for a cosmetic composition to be applied keratinous fibers, comprising:
an applicator including a first elongate support having an anvil disposed at a first and a second elongate support having a comb disposed at a first end, a second end of the first elongate support being coupled to a second end of the second elongate support by a hinge, the applicator being selectively movable between a first state and a second state, the comb being disengaged from the anvil when the applicator is in the first state, the comb engaging the anvil when the applicator is in the second state; and a container defining an internal space at least partially filled with the cosmetic composition and an aperture sized receive the first and second elongate supports when the applicator is in the second state.
2 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the hinge is an elastic hinge that is undeformed in the first state and is deformed in the second state.
3 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second elongate supports are parallel when the applicator is in the second state.
4 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the anvil has a protruding profile, and the comb has a recessed profile, the comb at least partially receiving the anvil when the applicator is in the second state.
5 . The package according to claim 4 , wherein the protruding profile includes a first flat surface positioned at an angle relative to a second flat surface.
6 . The package according to claim 5 , wherein the recessed profile of the comb has a constant offset from the protruding profile of the anvil.
7 . The package according to claim 4 , wherein the comb includes teeth extending radially from a longitudinal axis of the applicator when the applicator is in the second state.
8 . The package according to claim 7 , wherein at least one of the teeth has first and second planar faces perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
9 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the comb has a protruding profile, and the anvil has a recessed profile, the anvil at least partially receiving the comb when the applicator is in the second state.
10 . The package according to claim 4 , wherein the recessed profile includes a first flat surface positioned at an angle relative to a second flat surface.
11 . The package according to claim 5 , wherein the comb includes a plurality of teeth extending radially from a longitudinal axis of the applicator when the applicator is in the second state.
12 . The package according to claim 4 , wherein the teeth are parallel to each other.
13 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the first elongate support includes a first planar surface, and the second elongate support includes a second planar surface, the first and second planar surfaces being parallel and engaging each other when the applicator is in the second state.
14 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the applicator is at least partially formed from a polymeric material.
15 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the applicator has a unitary construction and is formed by a molding process.
16 . The package according to claim 1 , wherein the applicator is undeflected in the first state and is deflected in the second state.
17 . A method of applying a cosmetic composition to keratinous fibers, the method comprising the steps of:
moving an applicator from a first state to a second state, the applicator including a first elongate support having an anvil disposed at a first and a second elongate support having a comb disposed at a first end, a second end of the first elongate support being coupled to a second end of the second elongate support by a flexible hinge, the applicator being selectively movable between a first state and a second state, the comb being disengaged from the anvil when the applicator is in the first state, the comb engaging the anvil when the applicator is in the second state; inserting the comb and anvil into a container at least partially filled with the cosmetic composition; withdrawing the comb and anvil from the container; moving the applicator from the first state to the second state so at least some of the keratinous fibers extend through the comb; and drawing the applicator across the keratinous fibers to transfer at least some of the cosmetic composition from the comb to the keratinous fibers.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
