Abstract

The present invention comprises a novel support device for children learning to walk, comprising of a loop, loops, length or lengths of cordage descended from a central, compact handle held by a caregiver, with said descended length(s) or loop(s) of cordage supporting a handle or handles grasped by a child. The child handle(s) may be round rods which have holes bored or set through the length of it and through which the loops of cordage may thread. In such a case, the child handle(s) may have small notches at each end for the cordage to slip into, thereby preventing the child handle(s) from freely rotating around the cordage. The support device may additionally comprise an extra length or lengths of cordage which allows for the length of the descended child-supporting cordage to be adjusted, as well as elements for securely holding the cordage at a set length.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A device which allows a caregiver to provide support to a child that struggles to carry his or her own weight and/or maintain his or her own balance while upright, said device comprising:
 a. a compact caregiver handle which focuses the child's supported weight onto a small, centralized area; b. a pair of cordage lengths or loops which descend from the caregiver handle; c. a pair of child handles, each supported by one of the descended lengths or loops of cordage.

2 . The support device of claim 1 further comprising:
 a. an extra length or lengths of cordage(s) which allows for the length of the descended, child-supporting cordage to be adjusted.

3 . The support device of claim 2 further comprising:
 a. elements which allow the extra length(s) of adjustable cordage to be secured at a set length.

4 . A device which allows a caregiver to provide support to a child that struggles to carry his or her own weight and/or maintain his or her own balance while upright, said device comprising:
 a. a compact caregiver handle which focuses the child's supported weight onto a small, centralized area; b. a length or loop of cordage which descends from the caregiver handle; c. a child handle, supported by the descended length or loop of cordage.

5 . The support device of claim 4 further comprising:
 a. an extra length or lengths of cordage(s) which allows for the length of the descended, child-supporting cordage to be adjusted.

6 . The support device of claim 5 further comprising:
 a. elements which allow the extra length(s) of adjustable cordage to be secured at a set length.
