Abstract

The present invention relates to a reconstituted plant sheet comprising nicotine stabilized by an acid.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A reconstituted plant sheet comprising:
a fibrous support comprising plant fibers, an aerosol-generating agent, and a plant extract,
wherein the plant is not tobacco plant,
       characterized in that
it further comprises nicotine and an organic acid, or a salt of nicotine, and
it has a pH from 4.9 to 7.0.

2 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 wherein the organic acid has:
a pKa of less than or equal to 5, and
a vapor pressure at 25° C. from 10-10 mm to 20 mmHg, or a boiling point above or equal to 300° C. or both.

3 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the organic acid is alginic acid, aspartic acid, benzoic acid, citric acid, fumaric acid, glutamic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, levulinic acid, malic acid, pectic acid, pyruvic acid, salicylic acid, tartaric acid, glucuronic acid, galacturonic acid, myristic acid or mixtures thereof.

4 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the total content by weight of solids of nicotine is from 0.1% to 4%.

5 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the molar ratio of nicotine:organic acid is from 1:0.1 to 1:10.

6 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the total content by weight of solids of the aerosol-generating agent is from 10% to 40%.

7 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the total content by weight of solids of the plant extract is from 10% to 70%.

8 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , in which the plant is chosen from food plants, aromatic plants, fragrant plants, medicinal plants, plants of the family Cannabaceae, and mixtures thereof.

9 . Reconstituted plant sheet according to claim 1 , in which the plant is anise eucalyptus , fennel, ginger, mint, peppermint, licorice, sage, stevia or mixtures thereof.

10 . Process for producing a reconstituted plant sheet as defined in claim 1 , comprising the following steps:
 a) passing plant fibers through a papermaking machine so as to produce a base web, b) forming a solution comprising:
 the plant extract,
 the aerosol-generating agent, and
 the nicotine and the organic acid, or the salt of nicotine;
   c) bringing the solution into contact with the base web to obtain a wet reconstituted plant sheet, and d) drying the wet reconstituted plant sheet to produce the reconstituted plant sheet.

11 . Process according to claim 10 wherein, during step b), the solution is formed by:
mixing in a solvent, nicotine, the aerosol-generating agent, the plant extract and the organic acid, or
mixing in a solvent, the salt of nicotine, the aerosol-generating agent and the plant extract.

12 . Consumable for a device for heating tobacco without burning it, comprising a reconstituted plant sheet as defined in claim 1 .

13 . Non-therapeutic use of a consumable as defined in claim 12 in a device for heating tobacco without burning it.

14 . Consumable as defined in claim 12 for use thereof in a heating device for therapeutic purposes, the plant being chosen from medicinal plants.
