Selectively positionable spacer and garment attachment regions
Abstract
Apparatus and associated methods relate to spacers configured to be selectively and releasably coupled to at least one attachment region on a garment. In an illustrative example, each spacer may be provided with successive concentric walls and corresponding channels. The spacer may, for example, be provided with intersecting concentric and lateral channels. An (under)garment may be provided with at least one attachment region configured to releasably couple to the spacer. Various embodiments may advantageously provide tangential and/or radial fluid communication between a wearer's body and an outer garment disposed over the spacers.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A garment spacer comprising:
a base having an upper surface and a lower surface and provided with a plurality of apertures providing fluid communication between the upper surface and the lower surface, the lower surface of the base comprising a hook-and-loop fabric; and, a plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls coupled to the base and extending away from the upper surface of the base such that the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls define a plurality of concentric fluid channels, wherein:
the plurality of concentric fluid channels are in fluid communication with the plurality of apertures, and
radial fenestra of the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls provides fluid communication between the plurality of concentric fluid channels.

3 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls comprise silicone.
4 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of bridges between at least one pair of the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls.

6 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls comprising a vertical profile, wherein the vertical profile comprises a maximum height above a center of the base.
7 . The garment spacer of claim 6 , wherein the vertical profile comprises a monotonically decreasing profile as a function of increasing radius from the center of the base.
8 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , wherein the fluid communication between the plurality of concentric fluid channels comprises a radial fluid flow tangential to the lower surface of the base.
9 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of apertures comprise an axial aperture orthogonal to the lower surface and a lateral aperture tangential to the lower surface.
10 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls comprise at least one interconnecting axial aperture and lateral aperture.
11 . The garment spacer of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls is deformable by hand at room temperature.
12 . A wearable kit comprising:
a garment comprising a plurality of releasably coupling features distributed on a surface of the garment; and, at least one repositionable module configured to selectively and releasably couple to any one of the plurality of releasably coupling features, wherein the at least one repositionable module comprises:
a base having an upper surface and a lower surface and provided with a plurality of apertures providing fluid communication between the upper surface and the lower surface; and,
a plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls coupled to the base and extending away from the upper surface of the base such that the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls define a plurality of concentric fluid channels, wherein:
the plurality of concentric fluid channels are in fluid communication with the plurality of apertures, and
radial fenestra of the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls provides fluid communication between the plurality of concentric fluid channels.
13 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , wherein the lower surface of the base comprises a hook-and-loop fabric.
14 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of releasably coupling features are affixed to the surface of the garment.
15 . The wearable kit of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of releasably coupling features comprise a pocket.
16 . The wearable kit of claim 15 , wherein the pocket comprises a rigid polymeric material.
17 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , wherein each of the plurality of releasably coupling features comprises a tape of dry adhesive material.
18 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , wherein each of the plurality of releasably coupling features comprises a snap button.
19 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , wherein each of the plurality of releasably coupling features comprises a coupler ring configured to releasably coupled to one of the at least one repositionable module.
20 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , further comprising an outer garment configured to be worn over the garment and the at least one repositionable module releasably coupled to any one of the plurality of releasably coupling features of the garment.
21 . The wearable kit of claim 12 , further comprising a plurality of bridges between at least one pair of the plurality of radially fenestrated concentric walls.
