Abstract
This disclosure relates generally to vaporizing devices. A vaporizing device can include a cartridge for receiving a center post within an interior of the cartridge, with the cartridge comprising a reservoir between an inner wall of the cartridge and the center post. The center post may have proximal and distal ends and a body extending therebetween. The body can define an internal channel capable of receiving an atomizing assembly in the distal end thereof. The distal end of the center post includes one or more voids in fluid communication with the internal channel and one or more ribs positioned proximally above the one or more voids, the one or more ribs extending radially outwardly into the reservoir of the cartridge of the vaporizing device.

1 . A vaporizing device comprising:
a cartridge for receiving a center post within an interior of the cartridge, the cartridge comprising a reservoir between an inner wall of the cartridge and the center post; the center post having proximal and distal ends and a body extending therebetween, the body defining an internal channel capable of receiving an atomizing assembly in the distal end thereof, and the distal end of the center post comprising: one or more voids in fluid communication with the internal channel and one or more ribs positioned proximally above the one or more voids, the one or more ribs extending radially outwardly into the reservoir of the cartridge of the vaporizing device.
2 . The vaporizing device of claim 1 , wherein the one or more ribs reduce flooding of the atomizing assembly during an oil filling process.
3 . The vaporizing device of claim 1 , wherein the reservoir defines a space for receiving oil to be vaporized, the reservoir having a width, and the one or more ribs extending radially outwardly about 40% to 85% of the width of the reservoir.
4 . The vaporizing device of claim 3 , wherein the one or more ribs extend radially outwardly about 50% of the width of the reservoir.
5 . The vaporizing device of claim 3 , wherein the one or more ribs extend radially outwardly about 65% of the width of the reservoir.
6 . The vaporizing device of claim 1 , wherein the one or more ribs are flanked by a top beveled edge and a bottom beveled edge, the top beveled edge providing a transition between the body of the center post and a proximal portion of the distal end of the center post.
7 . A vaporizing device comprising:
a center post having a body defining an internal channel extending between proximal and distal ends of the center post, the distal end of the center post comprising: one or more voids in fluid communication with the internal channel and a rib disposed above the one or more voids, a cartridge for receiving the center post within an interior of the cartridge, the cartridge comprising: a tank having proximal and distal ends, a reservoir defined by an inner wall of the tank and the body of the center post, the reservoir for receiving an oil to be vaporized by the vaporizing device, the rib extending outwardly from the center post and into the reservoir such that the rib extends about 50% to 85% of a width of the reservoir, and a base in connection with the distal end of the center post, the base abutting the distal end of the tank.
8 . The vaporizing device of claim 7 , further comprising at least one saturation characteristic.
9 . The vaporizing device of claim 8 , wherein the at least one saturation characteristic comprises a circumferential channel.
10 . The vaporizing device of claim 8 , wherein the at least one saturation characteristic comprises one or more beveled edges.
11 . The vaporizing device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more beveled edges comprises a top beveled edge and a bottom beveled edge, the bottom beveled edge together with a median flange defining a recessed band, the one or more voids within the recessed band.
12 . The vaporizing device of claim 8 , wherein the at least one saturation characteristic comprises one or more void recesses.
13 . The vaporizing device of claim 7 , wherein the rib prevents flooding of a heating element contained within the distal end of the center post.
14 . The vaporizing device of claim 11 , wherein a diameter of the median flange is smaller than a diameter of the interior of the cartridge.
15 . The vaporizing device of claim 7 , wherein the rib promotes (i) adhesion of the oil to the distal end of the center post and (ii) saturation of a core contained within a cavity defined by the distal end of the center post.
16 . The vaporizing device of claim 7 , further comprising a second rib disposed above the one or more voids.
17 . A vaporizing device comprising:
a center post having a body defining an internal channel extending between proximal and distal ends of the center post, the distal end of the center post comprising a rib extending radially outwardly from the center post and one or more voids located below the rib, the one or more voids in fluid communication with the internal channel; a cartridge comprising a tank for receiving the center post and a reservoir for receiving a volume of oil, the reservoir having a width extending from the center post to an inner wall of the tank; and wherein the rib extends radially outwardly at least 50% of the width of the reservoir.Cited by (0)
