Abstract

A collapsible combustion container comprises a first pair of vertically oriented panels that are pivotally joined to one another. A second pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another. The first pair of vertically oriented panels comprise first and second rectangular panels of substantially the same height. The second pair of vertically oriented panels comprise third and fourth rectangular panels having a different height from each other. The third rectangular panel has the same height as the first and second rectangular panels of the first pair of vertically oriented panels. The height of the fourth rectangular panel of the second pair of panels is considerably less than that of the other panels whereby when the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels are arranged to form a box shaped perimeter having an open space between interior facing surfaces of the pairs of the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels for containing a combustion reaction wherein said open space is accessed below the fourth rectangular panel. A lid is mounted to upper ends of the first, second, third and fourth vertically oriented panels.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A collapsible combustion container, comprising:
a first pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another; a second pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another; the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined together; the first pair of vertically oriented panels comprise first and second rectangular panels of substantially the same height; the second pair of vertically oriented panels comprise third and fourth rectangular panels having a different height from each other, the third rectangular panel has the same height as the first and second rectangular panels of the first pair of vertically oriented panels; the height of the fourth rectangular panel of the second pair of panels is considerably less than that of the other panels whereby when the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels are arranged to form a box shaped perimeter having an open space between interior facing surfaces of the first and second panels for containing a combustion reaction wherein said open space is accessed below the fourth rectangular panel; and a lid mounted to upper ends of the first, second, third and fourth vertically oriented panels.

2 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 1 wherein the first pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another by a first hinge.

3 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 2 wherein the second pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another by a second first hinge.

4 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 3 wherein the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined together by a third hinge.

5 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 4 wherein the lid is pivotally mounted to an upper end of the first vertically oriented panel by a fourth hinge.

6 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 5 wherein the first vertically oriented panel has an opening therethrough to allow smoke to leave the combustion container.

7 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 5 wherein a shoulder extends outward from the free side of the first panel at an angle of about 90 degrees thereto.

8 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 7 wherein the shoulder is removably attached to the fourth rectangular panel so that the first, second, third and fourth rectangular panels form a box shaped perimeter.

9 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 1 further including a collapsible fire box wherein four sidewalls are pivotally mounted to a base by hinges.

10 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 9 wherein the four sidewalls of the collapsible fire box each have a plurality of openings therethrough to allow air to flow to combustion material placed on the base of the fire box.

11 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 10 further including two supports attached to the base of the fire box.

12 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 1 further including a door mounted to a lower end of a shoulder 38 of the fourth rectangular panels.

13 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 12 wherein the door mounted by a hinge to the lower end of shoulder 38 can be pulled open by a handle.

14 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 13 including a series of openings in the door to control a draft through the combustion chamber.

15 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 14 including a slide device provided on the rear surface of the door to control the size of the openings.

         16 . A collapsible combustion container, comprising:
a first pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another; a second pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another; the first pair of vertically oriented panels comprise first and second rectangular panels of substantially the same height; the second pair of vertically oriented panels comprise third and fourth rectangular panels having a different height from each other; the third rectangular panel has the same height as the first and second rectangular panels of the first pair of vertically oriented panels; the height of the fourth rectangular panel of the second pair of panels is considerably less than that of the other panels whereby when the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels are arranged to form a box shaped perimeter having an open space between interior facing surfaces of the pairs of the first and second pairs of vertically oriented panels for containing a combustion reaction wherein said open space is accessed below the fourth rectangular panel; and a lid mounted to upper ends of the first, second, third and fourth vertically oriented panels.

17 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 16 wherein the first pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another by a first hinge.

18 . The collapsible combustion container of claim 17 wherein the second pair of vertically oriented panels are pivotally joined to one another by a second first hinge.
