Abstract

A tub protector system including a tub protector, tub protector kit, and methods of making and methods of using the tub protector useful for protecting a tub. The tub protector system comprises a protective tub overlay including a tub overlay basket and a tub overlay border, wherein the tub overlay border may be attached to a tub overlay basket periphery. The tub protector system may further comprise a tub basin impact absorbing base, tub rim impact absorbing strip, and a drape.

1 . A tub protector, comprising:
 a protective tub overlay including a protective tub overlay basket generally adapted to or configured to overlay a tub basin, said protective tub overlay basket extending to a protective overlay basket periphery generally disposed at a tub rim; and   a protective tub overlay border configured or adapted to overlay at least a portion of said tub rim.   
     
     
         2 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , wherein said protective tub overlay border coupled to said protective overlay basket periphery. 
     
     
         3 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , wherein said protective tub overlay border comprises an annular body having an inner annular edge defining an open area generally corresponding to an opening of a tub basin interior space of said tub basin and an outer annular edge, whereby said inner annular edge and said outer annular edge define a width of said protective tub overlay border. 
     
     
         4 . The tub protector of  claim 3 , wherein said inner annular edge of said protective tub overlay border coupled to said protective overlay basket periphery. 
     
     
         5 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , further comprising a protective overlay drape coupled to a portion of said outer annular edge of said protective tub overlay border. 
     
     
         6 . The tub protector of  claim 5 , further comprising an adhesive material to adhere said protective overlay drape to a tub skirt. 
     
     
         7 . The tub protector of  claim 6 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a one-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         8 . The tub protector of  claim 6 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a two-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         9 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , further comprising an impact absorbing base generally configured to cover a basin bottom of said tub. 
     
     
         10 . The tub protector of  claim 9 , wherein said impact absorbing base comprises a foam sheet. 
     
     
         11 . The tub protector of  claim 9 , further comprising an adhesive material to attach said impact absorbing base to said basin bottom. 
     
     
         12 . The tub protector of  claim 11 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a one-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         13 . The tub protector of  claim 11 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a two-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         14 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , further comprising an impact absorbing strip generally configured to cover at least a portion of said tub rim. 
     
     
         15 . The tub protector of  claim 14 , wherein said impact absorbing strip comprises a foam. 
     
     
         16 . The tub protector of  claim 14 , further comprising an adhesive material to adhere said impact absorbing strip to at least a portion of said tub rim. 
     
     
         17 . The tub protector of  claim 16 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a one-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         18 . The tub protector of  claim 16 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a two-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         19 . The tub protector of  claim 1 , further comprising an adhesive material disposed on said tub rim to secure said protective tub overlay border to said tub rim. 
     
     
         20 . The tub protector of  claim 19 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a one-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         21 . The tub protector of  claim 20 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a one-sided adhesive material. 
     
     
         22 . The tub protector of  claim 20 , wherein said adhesive material comprises a two-sided adhesive material.
