Abstract
A tobacco product tip assembly. The tobacco product tip assembly includes a tip portion comprising a tip wall defining an inhalation chamber; the tip portion extending into a body portion comprising a body wall defining an insertion chamber, the insertion chamber being in communication with the inhalation chamber; the body wall comprising a mechanical fastener. A tobacco product assembly and a process for producing a tobacco product assembly are also included.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A tobacco product tip assembly comprising:
a tobacco insertion chamber including one or more barbs that mechanically engage a tobacco product, the one or more barbs being fixed to and extending radially from a wall defining the tobacco insertion chamber.
2 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more barbs includes:
a flexible material.
3 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein each of the one or more barbs includes:
a shaft, and a barbed tip, the shaft fixed to and extending radially from the wall and the barbed tip at an end of the shaft.
4 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein the tobacco insertion chamber further includes:
one or more additional fasteners configured to mechanically engage a tobacco product.
5 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 4 , wherein the one or more additional fasteners includes:
one or more spikes.
6 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 4 , wherein the one or more additional fasteners includes:
one or more thread-like protrusions.
7 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 6 , wherein at least one of the one or more thread-like protrusions is helical.
8 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 4 , wherein the one or more additional fasteners are spaced at equal radial portions along the wall defining the tobacco insertion chamber.
9 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein the tobacco insertion chamber includes two or more barbs, the two or more barbs being spaced at equal radial portions along the wall defining the tobacco insertion chamber.
10 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein the tobacco insertion chamber includes:
a first portion having a first shape; and a second portion having a second shape that is different from the first shape.
11 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 10 , wherein the first portion of the tobacco insertion chamber includes an interior-facing cylindrical shape.
12 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 11 , wherein the first portion of the tobacco insertion chamber includes an exterior-facing octagonal shape.
13 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 11 , wherein the one or more barbs are disposed in the first portion of the tobacco insertion chamber.
14 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 11 , wherein the second portion of the tobacco insertion chamber is tapered along a major axis of the tobacco insertion chamber.
15 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 14 , wherein the second portion includes no perforations or fasteners.
16 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , further comprising:
an inhalation chamber in fluid communication with the tobacco insertion chamber.
17 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 16 , wherein the tobacco insertion chamber includes:
a first end, and an opposing second end, the first end of the tobacco insertion chamber being nearer to the inhalation chamber than the second end of the tobacco insertion chamber, the second end of the tobacco insertion chamber including the one or more barbs.
18 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 17 , wherein
the tobacco insertion chamber includes a first cavity, the first cavity having a first average diameter, the inhalation chamber defines a second cavity, the second cavity having a second average diameter, and the first average diameter is greater than the second average diameter.
19 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 17 , wherein the inhalation chamber has a rectangular shape.
20 . The tobacco product tip assembly of claim 1 , wherein the tobacco insertion chamber is conical.Cited by (0)
