Abstract

A side wall for a rail vehicle of differential structure, configured for fastening the lower end to a base frame and the upper end to a roof, includes a grid structure of bows and frames, and paneling of said grid structure, wherein the paneling is produced in one piece and has a vertical first section and a second section arranged at the upper end of the side wall and angled or bent with respect to the first section, and a cover plate which is oriented substantially perpendicularly in the installed position of the side wall and connected to the paneling at the upper end of the second section, and a plurality of ribs distributed along the longitudinal extent of the side wall and welded in within the intermediate space between the upper section of the paneling and the cover plate.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 7 . (canceled)

8 . A side wall for a rail vehicle in differential construction, structured for fastening at a lower end thereof to an underframe and at an upper end thereof to a roof, the side wall comprising:
a grid-form network of crossrails and frames; a cladding of said grid-form network, the cladding being formed in a single piece and comprising a vertical first section and a second section which is arranged at the upper end of the side wall and is angled or bent relative to the first section; a cover plate which is oriented substantially vertically in the installed position of the side wall and connected to the cladding at the upper end of the second section; and a plurality of ribs which are distributed along a longitudinal extent of the side wall and welded into an intermediate space between the upper section of the cladding and the cover plate.

9 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising:
a closing plate which is aligned substantially parallel to the first section of the cladding and which extends between two adjacent frames and between an uppermost crossrail and a crossrail below, said closing plate being welded to these structural elements.

10 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 9 , wherein at least one frame of the two adjacent frames is formed as a door pillar.

11 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the plurality of ribs are formed as flat plates with an edge bend at one side of a perimeter thereof.

12 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the plurality of ribs are formed as flat plates with an edge bend at one side of a perimeter thereof.

13 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the plurality of ribs are formed as flat plates with an edge bend at one side of a perimeter thereof.

14 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the cover plate has an L-form cross section; and wherein one limb of two limbs of the cover plate extends away from the cladding.

15 . The side wall for a rail vehicle as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising:
at least one reinforcing plate arranged between an uppermost crossrail and an upper section of the cladding, the at least one reinforcing plate being welded to these structural elements.

16 . A rail vehicle comprising the side wall as claimed in claim 8 .
