Abstract

A container device with an outer shell that has an opening that is sealed by a closure mechanism. The closure mechanism may include resealable closure elements that are configured to partially or wholly seal the opening. In some examples, the closure elements may be magnetic strips. In addition, the closure mechanism may include curved members to prevent the opening from closing when the closure mechanism is in an open configuration.

 a first magnetic strip coupled to a front side of an opening of a storage compartment located within the outer shell;
 a second magnetic strip coupled to a back side of the opening; and
 a stiffener, wherein a first portion of the stiffener extends from the front portion of outer shell to the back portion of the outer shell on a first side of the outer shell;
   wherein the first magnetic strip is magnetically attracted to the second magnetic strip to resealably seal the opening; and wherein the stiffener prevents the opening from closing when the container is in an open configuration.

         3 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the stiffener has a second portion that extends from the front portion of the outer shell to the back portion of the outer shell on a second side of the outer shell, wherein the second side of the outer shell is opposite the first side.

         4 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the stiffener is a stiffener loop that extends around the opening of the container.

         5 . The container of claim 4 , wherein an elongated rounded side of the stiffener loop is flattened such that the elongated rounded sides are parallel when the container is in a closed configuration.

         6 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the stiffener has a constant thickness.

         7 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the stiffener has a concave cross-sectional shape.

         8 . The container of claim 2 , further comprising:
 an inner liner; and an insulating layer positioned between the outer shell and the inner liner, the insulating layer providing insulation for the storage compartment.

         9 . The container of claim 8 , wherein the stiffener is between the insulating layer and the outer shell.

         10 . The container of claim 2 , further comprising a pair of elongated adjustable straps to allow a user to carry the container as a backpack; and
 a flap portion extending from the back portion above the back side of the opening, the flap portion being configured to be held in a folded configuration.

         11 . The container of claim 2 , wherein the stiffener includes a portion formed from a steel alloy.

         12 . A container, comprising:
 an outer shell defining a sidewall and a base, the outer shell having a front portion and a back portion; an opening of the container extending into a storage compartment within the outer shell, the opening having a front side and a back side and wherein the container has an open configuration that allows access to the storage compartment and a closed configuration that prevents access to the storage compartment; and a closure mechanism, further comprising:
 a first magnetic strip coupled to the front side of the opening;
 a second magnetic strip coupled to the back side of the opening; and
 a first curved member, wherein the first curved member has a first end, a second end, and a first curved member body extending between the first end and the second end; and
 wherein the first magnetic strip is magnetically attracted to the second magnetic strip to resealably seal the opening, wherein when the opening is sealed, the opening is watertight, and wherein a magnetic force between the first magnetic strip and the second magnetic strip cause the first curved member to deform when the container is moved from the open configuration to the closed configuration.

         13 . The container of claim 12 , wherein the first curved member has a concave cross-sectional shape.

         14 . The container of claim 12 , further comprising:
 an inner liner; and an insulating layer positioned between the outer shell and the inner liner, the insulating layer providing insulation for the storage compartment.

         15 . The container of claim 14 , wherein the closure mechanism further comprises:
 a second curved member, wherein the second curved member has a first end, a second end, and a second curved member body extending between the first end and the second end; and wherein the first curved member and the second curved member prevents the opening from closing when the container is in the open configuration.

         16 . The container of claim 15 , wherein the second curved member is positioned between the insulating layer and the outer shell.

         17 . The container of claim 12 , wherein the first curved member includes a non-metallic coating.

         18 . The container of claim 12 , wherein the first curved member is received in a first receiver on the front portion of the outer shell, wherein the first curved member is sealed within the first receiver.

         19 . A container, comprising:
