Outboard motor and boat
Abstract
An outboard motor includes a drive source, a propeller, and a transmission to transmit a drive power of the drive source to the propeller. The transmission includes a propeller shaft, an input shaft, a first output shaft, and a first winding transmission. The propeller shaft extends in a first direction and is rotatable together with the propeller. The input shaft is connected to the drive source and is rotatable by the drive power of the drive source. The first output shaft is connected to the propeller shaft, is spaced apart from the input shaft, and transmits power to the propeller shaft. The first winding transmission transmits rotation of the input shaft to the first output shaft.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An outboard motor comprising:
a drive source; a propeller; and a transmission to transmit a drive power of the drive source to the propeller, the transmission including:
a propeller shaft extending in a first direction and rotatable together with the propeller;
an input shaft connected to the drive source and rotatable by the drive power of the drive source;
a first output shaft, spaced apart from the input shaft, to transmit power to the propeller shaft; and
a first winding transmission to transmit rotation of the input shaft to the first output shaft.
2 . The outboard motor according to claim 1 , wherein the first output shaft is located on one side of the input shaft in the first direction.
3 . The outboard motor according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a first case accommodating at least a portion of the first output shaft and the propeller shaft and rotatable about the first output shaft.
4 . The outboard motor according to claim 1 , further comprising a transmission shifter on the first output shaft.
5 . The outboard motor according to claim 4 , further comprising:
a first case accommodating at least a portion of the first output shaft and the propeller shaft and rotatable about the first output shaft; and a second case connected to the first case and accommodating the transmission shifter.
6 . The outboard motor according to claim 1 , wherein the first winding transmission includes:
a first input side sprocket around the input shaft; a first output side sprocket around the first output shaft; and a first chain connecting the first input side sprocket to the first output side sprocket.
7 . The outboard motor according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a driven device to be driven by the drive power of the drive source, the driven device located below the input shaft and on one side of the first output shaft in the first direction.
8 . The outboard motor according to claim 7 , further comprising:
a second output shaft extending in a second direction to transmit power to the driven device; and a second winding transmission to transmit power of the input shaft to the second output shaft.
9 . The outboard motor according to claim 8 , wherein the second winding transmission includes:
a second input side sprocket provided around the input shaft; a second output side sprocket around the second output shaft; and a second chain connecting the second input side sprocket to the second output side sprocket.
10 . The outboard motor of claim 7 , wherein the driven device includes a water pump.
11 . A boat comprising;
a hull; and the outboard motor according to claim 1 mounted to a rear of the hull.
12 . An outboard motor comprising:
a drive source; a propeller; and a transmission to transmit a drive power of the drive source to the propeller, the transmission including:
a propeller shaft extending in a first direction and rotatable together with the propeller;
an input shaft connected to the drive source and rotatable by the drive power of the drive source;
a first output shaft connected to the propeller shaft, spaced apart from the input shaft, to transmit power to the propeller shaft; and
a first transmission to transmit rotation of the input shaft to the first output shaft.
13 . The outboard motor according to claim 12 , wherein the first output shaft is located on one side of the input shaft in the first direction.
14 . The outboard motor according to claim 13 , further comprising:
a first case accommodating at least a portion of the first output shaft and the propeller shaft and rotatable about the first output shaft.
15 . The outboard motor according to claim 12 , further comprising a transmission shifter on the first output shaft.
16 . The outboard motor according to claim 15 , further comprising:
a first case accommodating at least a portion of the first output shaft and the propeller shaft and rotatable about the first output shaft; and a second case connected to the first case and accommodating the transmission shifter.
17 . The outboard motor according to claim 13 , further comprising:
a driven device to be driven by the drive power of the drive source, the driven device being located below the input shaft and in front of the first output shaft.
18 . The outboard motor according to claim 17 , further comprising:
a second output shaft extending in a second direction to transmit power to the driven device; and a second transmission to transmit power of the input shaft to the second output shaft.
19 . The outboard motor according to claim 17 , wherein the driven device includes a water pump.
20 . A boat comprising;
