Mounting Bracket
Abstract
A bracket for attachment to a structure is provided that includes a base having a supporting portion and a mounting portion extending at an angle to the supporting portion. The mounting portion defines one or more first mounting holes sized to receive a fastener for mounting the bracket to the structure and disposed at an oblique angle to the mounting portion. The base defines a gap having a width. The bracket includes a support arm extending from the base and through the gap of the base. The support arm has a width at an interconnection with the base that is less than the width of the of the gap such that a first portion of the base is on one side of the support arm and a second portion of the base is on an opposite side of the support arm. At least a portion of the one or more first mounting holes is located above a top of the support arm.

. The bracket of claim 27 wherein the mount comprises two arms extending from support, each arm defines at least one of the at least one first mounting hole and at least one of the at least one second mounting hole.
. The bracket of claim 24 wherein the two arms of the mount define a space therebetween and the support arm extends into the space to contact the structure.
. The bracket of claim 21 wherein the mounting bracket defines a space and the support arm includes an attachment portion extending through the space to extend along the structure.
. The bracket of claim 30 wherein the at least one first mounting hole is disposed laterally of the space.
. The bracket of claim 21 wherein the support arm defines a first attachment hole and the support defines a corresponding second attachment hole for attaching the support arm to the support.
. The bracket of claim 21 wherein the support is spaced from the structure by the mount.
. The bracket of claim 27 wherein at least a portion of the at least one second mounting hole is located above the support arm.
. The bracket of claim 21 further comprising a base arm connected to the support arm, the base arm extending at an angle relative to the support arm to engage the structure.
. The bracket of claim 21 wherein the mount of the mounting bracket includes a proximal segment and a distal segment at an angle relative to the proximal segment, the proximal segment spacing the support from the structure, the distal segment profiled to engage the structure.
. The bracket of claim 21 wherein the mount extends upward from the support, wherein the support arm includes a base that extends downward from the support along the structure.
. A bracket comprising:
a mounting bracket having a mount and a support, the mount having a mounting surface profiled to engage a structure, the support extending from the structure at an angle; at least one fastener for attaching the mounting bracket to the structure, the mount supporting the at least one fastener such that the at least one fastener extends from the mount at an oblique angle to the mounting surface; and a support arm extending from the mounting bracket and away from the structure and in an overlying at least in part engagement with the support to resist downward deflection of the support arm, wherein the at least one fastener extends from a portion of the mount located above the support.
. The bracket of claim 38 wherein the mount defines at least one first mounting hole that supports the at least one fastener at the oblique angle.
. The bracket of claim 38 wherein the mount comprises two arms extending from the support.
. The bracket of claim 40 wherein each arm supports one of the at least one fastener.
. The bracket of claim 40 wherein the mount includes a bridge that connects the two arms above the support, and the bridge supporting the at least one fastener.
. The bracket of claim 40 wherein the mounting bracket defines a space and the support arm includes an attachment portion extending through the space to extend along the structure.
. The bracket of claim 43 wherein the at least one fastener is disposed laterally of the space.
. The bracket of claim 38 wherein the support arm defines a first attachment hole and the support defines a corresponding second attachment hole for attaching the support arm to the support.
. The bracket of claim 38 wherein the mount of the mounting bracket includes a proximal segment and a distal segment at an angle relative to the proximal segment, the proximal segment spacing the support from the structure, the distal segment profiled to engage the structure.
