Abstract

A sewer cutter device is disclosed that is used to clear out roots and other debris from sewer pipes. The sewer cutter device comprises a body component that is configured to attach to any suitable drain snake for ease of use and convenience. The body component is a curved, helical saw blade comprising a plurality of saw teeth for cutting strong roots. Each of the saw teeth comprise multiple serrations and facets on both edges, such that the device can cut in both forward and reverse directions. The sewer cutter device is made from sturdy, flexible, and durable metal. The device is designed to clear various blockages in sewage pipes and other drains, improving efficiency when working for plumbers and drain cleaners.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A sewer cutter device that provides a user with a means for clearing out roots and other debris from sewer pipes, the sewer cutter device comprising:
a body component; and a drain snake; wherein the body component is secured to the drain snake; wherein the body component is a saw blade; wherein the saw blade comprises a plurality of saw teeth; and further wherein the plurality of saw teeth cut strong roots in both forward and reverse directions to clear blockages in sewage pipes.

2 . The sewer cutter device of claim 1 , wherein combined spinning motion of the drain snake and helical shape of the saw blade provides an efficient root cutting action for blocked sewer pipes and drains.

3 . The sewer cutter device of claim 2 , wherein the drain snake comprises a body component having a rearward end and a forward end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the rearward and forward ends.

4 . The sewer cutter device of claim 3 , wherein the forward end has a cable feed passage and a cable is stored in the rearward end of the body component and the cable has a forward end portion extending out of the cable feed passage.

5 . The sewer cutter device of claim 4 , wherein the body component is configured in a curved, helical saw blade.

6 . The sewer cutter device of claim 5 , wherein the curved, helical saw blade is attached at one end portion to the forward end portion of the cable of the drain snake.

7 . The sewer cutter device of claim 6 , wherein the forward end of the curved, helical saw blade comprises a converging tip end portion having double-edged blades.

8 . The sewer cutter device of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of saw teeth comprise sharpened double or triple-edge blades positioned at both edges of each tooth, to allow the plurality of saw teeth to cut through blockages in both a forward and reverse direction, during use.

9 . The sewer cutter device of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of saw teeth project radially outward and comprise sharpened, double-edge cutter blades.

10 . The sewer cutter device of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of saw teeth comprise multiple serrations and facets to provide additional cutting surfaces.

11 . The sewer cutter device of claim 10 , wherein the curved, helical saw blade is curved and flexible to bend around obstructions within a sewer pipe or to move around a curve or elbow in the sewer pipe.

12 . A sewer cutter device that provides a user with a means for clearing out roots and other debris from sewer pipes, the sewer cutter device comprising:
a body component configured in a curved, helical saw blade with a plurality of saw teeth; wherein the curved, helical saw blade is attached at one end portion to a forward end portion of a cable of a drain snake; wherein a forward end of the curved, helical saw blade comprises a converging tip end portion having double-edged blades; wherein the plurality of saw teeth comprise sharpened double or triple-edge blades positioned at both edges of each tooth, to allow the plurality of saw teeth to cut through blockages in both a forward and reverse direction, during use; wherein the plurality of saw teeth project radially outward and comprise sharpened, double-edge cutter blades; wherein the plurality of saw teeth cut strong roots in both forward and reverse directions to clear blockages in sewage pipes; and wherein combined spinning motion of the drain snake and helical shape of the curved, helical saw blade provides an efficient root cutting action for blocked sewer pipes and drains.

13 . The sewer cutter device of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of saw teeth comprise multiple serrations and facets to provide additional cutting surfaces.

14 . The sewer cutter device of claim 12 , wherein the curved, helical saw blade is curved and flexible to bend around obstructions within a sewer pipe or to move around a curve or elbow in the sewer pipe.

15 . The sewer cutter device of claim 12 , wherein the sewer cutter device is manufactured of a sturdy, flexible, and durable metal, such as aluminum, stainless steel, or steel.

16 . The sewer cutter device of claim 12 further comprising a plurality of indicia.

17 . The sewer cutter device of claim 12 , wherein the drain snake comprises a body component having a rearward end and a forward end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the rearward and forward ends.

18 . The sewer cutter device of claim 17 , wherein the forward end has a cable feed passage and a cable is stored in the rearward end of the body component and the cable has a forward end portion extending out of the cable feed passage.

19 . The sewer cutter device of claim 18 , wherein the drain snake comprises a fastener extending through the body component at the forward end and into the cable feed passage to secure and release the cable, as needed.

20 . A method of removing roots and other debris from a drainage system, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a sewer cutter device comprising a body component that is a curved, helical saw blade with a plurality of saw teeth; attaching the device to a drain snake; inserting the device and drain snake into the clogged sewage pipe and drain; and manually rotating the drain snake and device to cut and clear various blockages in the sewage pipes and drains.
