Viewing optic with grip texture

Abstract

A viewing optic has a texture on at least a portion of the front side of the viewing optic. The texture may be further provided on a portion of at least one of the rear side, left side, right side and/or top side of the viewing optic. The texture on the front side may be the same or different than the texture provided on any other surface. The viewing optic is designed to secure to the slide of a firearm, such as a pistol.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A viewing optic comprising at least one side with a texture on at least a portion of the at least one side. 
     
     
         2 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one side is a front side. 
     
     
         3 . The viewing optic of  claim 2 , wherein the entirety of the front side includes the texture. 
     
     
         4 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the viewing optic further includes a rear side, left side and right side extending upward from a base. 
     
     
         5 . The viewing optic of  claim 4 , wherein at least a portion of at least one of the rear side, left side and right side further includes a texture. 
     
     
         6 . The viewing optic of  claim 5 , wherein the texture of the at least one of the rear side, left side and right side is the same as the texture on at least a portion of the front side. 
     
     
         7 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the texture comprises a feature selected from the group consisting of pyramids, dimples, lines, grooves, circles, squares, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         8 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the texture has a height from 0.001 mm to 10 mm. 
     
     
         9 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the texture has a depth from 0.001 mm to 10 mm. 
     
     
         10 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the texture comprises a plurality of pyramids. 
     
     
         11 . The viewing optic of  claim 1 , wherein the viewing optic is a red dot sight. 
     
     
         12 . A system comprising a firearm and the viewing optic of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         13 . A viewing optic comprising:
 a base;   a front side, a rear side, a left side, and a right side extending upward from the base;   a top side extending from the edges of the front side, rear side, left side and right side; and   at least one texture provided on at least a portion of the front side.   
     
     
         14 . The viewing optic of  claim 13 , wherein at least a portion of one of the rear side, left side, right side and top side further includes a second texture. 
     
     
         15 . The viewing optic of  claim 14 , wherein the second texture is the same as the texture on the at least a portion of the front side. 
     
     
         16 . The viewing optic of  claim 13 , wherein the at least one texture comprises a feature selected from the group consisting of pyramids, dimples, lines, grooves, circles, squares, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         17 . The viewing optic of  claim 14 , wherein the texture comprises pyramids having a height from 0.001 mm to 10 mm and a depth from 0.001 mm to 10 mm. 
     
     
         18 . A system comprising a firearm and a viewing optic, wherein the viewing optic comprises at least one side with a texture on at least a portion of the at least one side. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 18 , wherein the viewing optic includes a base; a front side, a rear side, a left side and a right side extending upward from the base; and a top side extending from the edges of the front side, rear side, left side and right side, and wherein the texture is on the front side. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 18 , wherein the firearm includes a slide, and the viewing optic is secured to the slide. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein the firearm is a pistol. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the viewing optic is a red dot sight.
