Belt adjustment system

Abstract

Disclosed are belt adjustment systems, particularly for wearing around a user's waist, that permit a continuum of belt loop sizes or a larger selection of belt loop sizes. The belt adjustment system includes an elongate belt member having a first end, a second end and a series of teeth positioned on an inner surface near the second end and a fixation member having first and second adjustment elements.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A belt system, comprising:
 a belt;   a buckle member, the buckle member configured to fixedly receive a first end of a belt cut to a desired measurement based on markings corresponding to a waist size;   a second opening configured to receive a second end of the belt within a second opening of the buckle member; and   an engagement element configured to engage the belt member and interlock the belt member and the buckle member.   
     
     
         2 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the markings comprise a series of graduations located on a surface of the belt near the first end of the belt member to provide guidance for cutting. 
     
     
         3 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the markings are printed and located near the first end of the belt member to provide guidance for cutting. 
     
     
         4 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the wherein the markings are disposed on an inner surface of the belt. 
     
     
         5 . The belt system of  claim 4 , wherein the wherein the markings are printed on an inner surface of the belt. 
     
     
         6 . The belt system as of  claim 1 , wherein the engagement element is an actuatable pawl element configured to engage a series of teeth on the belt member.
