Suspended Body Weight Trainer
Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a suspended body weight trainer that provides adjustability, is capable of withstanding significant forces, and is robust and resistant to wear and tear. More specifically, the disclosed suspended body weight trainer can be adjustable as to: different strap lengths, so that the grips may be adjusted as desired, based upon user height or exercise being performed; how the grips operate; and the different kinds of grips (or other user-interface devices such as, for example, handles, straps (to create a foot loop), balls, bars etc.) that can be used. In aspects of the disclosure, methods of mounting the straps of the suspended body weight trainer to an anchor providing improved usability and wear resistance thereof are also disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A suspended body weight trainer comprising:
at least one adjustable strap assembly; at least one attachment clip attachable to a lower end of the adjustable strap assembly, the attachment clip being configured to be attached to an accessory; wherein the attachment clip is D-shaped having a straight portion pivotally coupled to a curved portion at a first end of the straight portion and releasably connected thereto by an actuatable release at a second end of the straight portion.
2 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 1 wherein the attachment clip actuatable release comprises a reciprocating pin mounted for sliding movement within a channel in the straight portion and having a locking nub thereon, the locking nub being shaped to be lockingly received by a bore in the curved portion, the reciprocating pin being operatively coupled to an actuator and biased into a normally locked position.
3 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 2 wherein the attachment clip reciprocating pin includes an attachment bore therethrough to receive locking clips for locking the actuator therethrough.
4 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 3 wherein the attachment clip straight portion includes a recess therein shaped to allow reciprocating movement of the actuator and has a slot through the recess shaped to allow the ends of the locking clips to protrude through a portion of the straight portion and into the attachment bore in the reciprocating pin thereby attaching the actuator to the reciprocating pin.
5 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 4 attachment clip further including a spring seated in the channel around the reciprocating pin behind the locking clips in order to bias the reciprocating pin locking nub into a normally locked position in the locking bore unless the actuator is moved laterally by a user.
6 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 1 wherein the actuatable release comprises a reciprocating bolt provided on one of the curved or straight portions of the D-shaped clip and biased into a bolt-channel extending into the other one of the curved or straight portions a push button coupled to the bolt, wherein actuation of the push button overcomes the bias and reciprocates the bolt from the bolt-channel.
7 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 1 wherein the accessory is selected from the group consisting of hand grips, stirrups, exercise bars, and ball grips.
8 . A suspended body weight trainer comprising:
at least one adjustable strap assembly having an upper portion and a lower portion and having an adjustable buckle therebetween, the upper portion having a loop thereon for receiving an attachment portion of the adjustable buckle and wherein the adjustable buckle comprise a housing having a path for receiving the lower portion of the adjustable strap therethrough, the path including a pinch surface and a lever pivotally coupled to the buckle housing and having an engaging end and an actuating end, the engaging end being biased against the pinch surface, wherein actuation of the actuating end overcomes the bias and releases the engaging end from the pinch surface.
9 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 8 wherein the buckle is mounted such that the pinch surface is positioned proximal the upper portion of the adjustable strap.
10 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 8 wherein the buckle is mounted such that the pinch surface if positioned proximal the lower portion of the adjustable strap.
11 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 8 further comprising a strap sleeve mounted on the lower portion of the adjustable strap for controlling a loose end of the lower portion of the adjustable strap.
12 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 11 further comprising a looped lanyard, the looped lanyard being attached to the strap sleeve at one end thereof and the upper portion loop at the other end thereof.
13 . A suspended body weight trainer comprising: A suspended body weight trainer comprising:
at least one adjustable strap assembly; at least one attachment clip attachable on one end to a lower end of the adjustable strap assembly and being attachable on the other end to a grip/strap combination, the grip/strap combination comprising a looped strap for connecting to the attachment clip and two ends for connecting to opposite ends of a hand grip, the hand grip including end caps thereon shaped to rotatably receive a rotating portion of the hand grip, the rotating portion having bearing nubs and flanges thereon shaped to be received in corresponding bearing recesses in the end caps wherein the end caps include an upper portion and a lower portion having slots therein shaped to securingly receive and retain the ends of the looped strap.
14 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 13 wherein the ends of the looped strap include stops thereon shaped to be securely retained in the slots formed in the upper and lower portions of the end caps.
15 . A suspended body weight trainer comprising:
at least one adjustable strap assembly; at least one attachment clip attachable on one end to a lower end of the adjustable strap assembly and being attachable on the other end to a grip/strap combination, the grip/strap combination comprising a looped strap for connecting to the attachment clip and two ends for connecting to opposite ends of a hand grip, the hand grip being comprised of end caps and a rotating portion, the rotating portion including bearing surfaces on the ends thereof having projections thereon, the projections including threaded bores therein, the bearing surfaces and projections shaped to be received in corresponding bearing recesses in the end caps, the end caps having bores therethrough shaped to receive bolts having threads on the ends thereof to be securingly received in threaded bores in the rotating portion.
16 . The suspended body weight trainer of claim 15 further wherein the end caps further include detents formed therein and the ends of the looped strap include stops thereon, the detents shaped to securingly receive and retain the ends of the looped strap.Cited by (0)
