Drinking fountain and fountain arm thereof

Abstract

A drinking fountain having an upwardly extending body in which is housed internal components of the fountain; and one or more fountain arms extending outwardly from the body via which water can be dispensed, wherein the or each arm is releasably fixable to the body between two or more positions to enable adjustment of a height of each fountain arm above the ground.

         10 . A drinking fountain, comprising:
 an upwardly extending body configured to house internal components of the drinking fountain; and   one or more fountain arms extending outwardly from the body and configured for dispensing water from the body to a drinker;   wherein each of the fountain arms is releasably fixable to the body at two or more selectable positions to enable height adjustment of each of the fountain arms above the ground.   
     
     
         11 . The drinking fountain of  claim 10 , wherein each of the fountain arms extends from a corresponding slot in the body, and wherein each of the fountain arms is height-adjustable by movement within its corresponding slot. 
     
     
         12 . The drinking fountain of  claim 11 , wherein the body includes locking means, operable with each of the slots, for fixing each of the fountain arms in a selected one of the selectable positions. 
     
     
         13 . In a drinking fountain comprising a body that is openable and closeable, and a water-dispensing fountain arm extending from the body and fixed to the body at a first height position of two or more selectable height positions, a method of adjusting fountain arm height, comprising:
 opening the body of the drinking fountain;   removing a locking element from the body;   unfixing the fountain arm from the body;   moving the fountain arm from the first height position to a second height position;   fixing the fountain arm to the body at the second height position;   applying the locking element to the body; and   closing the body of the drinking fountain.   
     
     
         14 . A fountain arm for dispensing water from a drinking fountain body, the fountain arm comprising:
 a mounting end by which the fountain arm is releasably fixable to the drinking fountain body;   an opposed dispensing end configured for dispensing water from the drinking fountain body to a drinker; and   a top portion between the mounting end and the dispensing end, the top portion including an elongate drain configured for collecting water dispensed from the dispensing end.

The fountain arm of  claim 14 , wherein the dispensing end comprises a nozzle configured for dispensing water towards a drinker's mouth, and wherein the fountain arm is configured for at least partially limiting water that has contacted the drinker's mouth from contacting the nozzle. 
     
     
         16 . The fountain arm of  claim 15 , wherein the dispensing end comprises a hood configured for at least partially shielding the nozzle from water that has contacted the drinker's mouth. 
     
     
         17 . The fountain arm of  claim 14 , wherein the elongate drain is at least partially covered by a mesh configured for preventing debris from collecting in the elongate drain. 
     
     
         18 . The fountain arm of  claim 14 , wherein the top portion of the fountain arm is at least partially concave to facilitate drainage of water dispensed from the dispensing end of the fountain arm.
