Bow Support Systems and Related Devices and Methods
Abstract
A support member for a bow may include a first portion having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first through-hole extending from the first surface to the second surface. The support member may include a clip coupled with the first portion, the clip having a third surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface. The support member may be configured to be fixedly secured to the bow by a stabilizer of the bow being secured to a stabilizer mount of the bow through the first through-hole. The clip may be configured to vertically support the bow while a user is aiming or firing the bow. A bow support assembly may include the support member and a clip receiver configured for receiving the clip. The clip receiver may be rotatably coupled with a pole receiver configured to be secured to a trekking pole.

1 . A support member for a bow, comprising:
a first portion comprising a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first through-hole extending from the first surface to the second surface; and a clip coupled with the first portion, the clip comprising a third surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface; wherein the support member is configured to be fixedly secured to the bow by a stabilizer of the bow being secured to a stabilizer mount of the bow through the first through-hole; and wherein the clip is configured to vertically support the bow while a user is aiming or firing the bow.
2 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the clip is substantially flat.
3 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the first surface and the second surface are substantially parallel to one another, wherein the third surface and the fourth surface are substantially parallel to one another, and wherein the first surface and the third surface are substantially not parallel to one another.
4 . The support member of claim 3 , wherein the first surface and the third surface are substantially orthogonal to one another.
5 . The support member of claim 3 , wherein the clip is coupled with the first portion through a second portion of the support member, wherein the second portion is not substantially parallel with the first surface, and wherein the second portion is not substantially parallel with the third surface.
6 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the clip comprises a second through-hole.
7 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the first portion comprises a plurality of protrusions extending from the first surface, the plurality of protrusions configured to resist rotation of the support member relative to the stabilizer mount when the stabilizer is secured to the stabilizer mount through the first through-hole.
8 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the first portion comprises a recess in the second surface, the recess shaped and sized to at least partially house a first end of the stabilizer.
9 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein the clip is substantially rectangular.
10 . A bow support system, comprising:
a support member comprising:
a first portion comprising a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first through-hole extending from the first surface to the second surface; and
a clip coupled with the first portion, the clip comprising a third surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface; and
a clip receiver, the clip receiver comprising an opening and a cavity accessible through the opening; wherein the support member is configured to be fixedly secured to a bow by a stabilizer of the bow being secured to a stabilizer mount of the bow through the first through-hole; and wherein the clip is configured to selectively couple within the clip receiver to vertically support the bow while a user is aiming or firing the bow.
11 . The bow support system of claim 10 , further comprising a pole receiver coupled with the clip receiver, the pole receiver configured for securing to a trekking pole.
12 . The bow support system of claim 11 , wherein the pole receiver comprises a substantially cylindrical hollow interior.
13 . The bow support system of claim 11 , further comprising a tightener for tightening the pole receiver around the trekking pole.
14 . The bow support system of claim 11 , wherein the clip receiver is rotatable relative to the pole receiver.
15 . The bow support system of claim 10 , wherein the cavity is substantially rectangular.
16 . The bow support system of claim 10 , wherein the first surface and the second surface are substantially parallel to one another, wherein the third surface and the fourth surface are substantially parallel to one another, and wherein the first surface and the third surface are substantially not parallel to one another.
17 . The bow support system of claim 10 , wherein the first portion comprises:
a plurality of protrusions extending from the first surface, the plurality of protrusions configured to resist rotation of the support member relative to the stabilizer mount when the stabilizer is secured to the stabilizer mount through the first through-hole; and a recess in the second surface, the recess shaped and sized to at least partially house a first end of the stabilizer.
18 . A method of use of a bow support system, comprising:
coupling a support member to a bow, the support member comprising:
a first portion comprising a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first through-hole extending from the first surface to the second surface; and
a clip coupled with the first portion, the clip comprising a third surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface;
securing a pole receiver to a trekking pole; inserting the clip into a cavity of a clip receiver coupled with the pole receiver, the cavity accessible through an opening of the clip receiver; and vertically supporting the bow, using the trekking pole, while aiming or firing the bow.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising rotating the bow up or down, while the bow is vertically supported by the trekking pole, by rotating the clip receiver relative to the pole receiver while the clip is inserted into the clip receiver.
