Automatic Raising and Controlled Lowering of a Toilet Seat
Abstract
Technology for testing biologic substances deposited in a toilet is described. In one aspect, a device for testing biologic substances is located within the bowl of the toilet. The biologic testing device includes methods for testing the biologic substances within the bowl of the toilet, in a diversion pipe of the toilet, or in a reservoir connected to or located in a toilet. The biologic testing device includes colorimetric indicators to show the presence of specific compounds, or the concentrations of specific compounds. A scanning device for reading the colorimetric results is a part of the biologic testing system. The scanning device is connected to a computing device which interprets the colorimetric results and, in some embodiments, converts from a colorimetric reading to a text-based analysis which is displayed for a user to review.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A biologic testing system comprising:
a testing apparatus, a toilet seat, a bowl, and a flush valve configured to dispense a fluid into the bowl; a sensor configured to sense a position of the toilet seat and to generate a position signal representative of the position of the toilet seat; and, a position unit communicatively coupled to the sensor and to the flush valve, the position unit being configured to receive the position signal and to transmit a flush regulation signal representative of the position of the toilet seat to the flush valve.
2 . The biologic testing system of claim 1 , wherein the flush valve is configured to dispense the fluid when the toilet seat is in a raised position.
3 . The biologic testing system of claim 1 , wherein the position unit is located behind the toilet seat.
4 . The biologic testing system of claim 1 , wherein the testing apparatus is located in the bowl of the toilet.
5 . The biologic testing system of claim 4 , wherein the testing apparatus comprises test strips.
6 . The biologic testing system of claim 5 , further comprising a scanning device to read the test strips.
7 . The biologic testing system of claim 6 , wherein the scanning device is an optical scanner.
8 . The biologic testing system of claim 6 , further comprising a mechanism for advancing the test strips into the bowl.
9 . The biologic testing system of claim 5 , wherein the test strips are located on toilet paper.
10 . The biologic testing system of claim 1 , wherein the biologic testing device is located in a diversion pipe.
11 . The biologic testing system of claim 10 , wherein the biologic testing device is a biosensor.
12 . The biologic testing system of claim 1 , wherein the biologic testing device is located in a reservoir.
13 . The biologic testing system of claim 12 , wherein the biologic testing device is a biosensor.
14 . A retrofit kit configured to provide biologic testing for use with an installed toilet, the installed toilet including a toilet seat, a bowl, and a flush valve configured to dispense a fluid into the bowl, the retrofit kit comprising:
a biologic testing device, a sensor configured to sense a position of the toilet seat and to generate a position signal representative of the position of the toilet seat when the sensor is coupled to the installed toilet; and, a position unit configured to be communicatively coupled to the sensor and to the flush valve, the position unit being configured to receive the position signal and to transmit a flush regulation signal representative of the position of the toilet seat to the flush valve.
15 . The retrofit kit of claim 14 , wherein the biologic testing device is located in the bowl of the toilet.
16 . The retrofit kit of claim 14 , wherein the biologic testing device comprises a scanner to read test strips advanced into the toilet bowl.
17 . The retrofit kit of claim 16 , wherein the scanner is located in the toilet seat.
18 . A method of analyzing biologic substances deposited into a toilet, the toilet including a biologic testing device, a toilet seat, a toilet bowl, and a flush valve configured to dispense a fluid into the bowl, the method comprising:
sensing a position of the toilet seat and generating a position signal representative of the position of the toilet seat with a sensor; and, receiving the position signal and transmitting a flush regulation signal representative of the position of the toilet seat with to the flush valve.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the biologic testing device comprises test strips.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising a scanner for reading the biological test strips.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
