Post Protector

Abstract

The device will act as a sleeve that is placed over a wooden post after the wooden post is sunk into the ground a predetermined distance to protect against rot of the wooden post. The top surface will be flanged and provide a means to ventilate the top portion of the device that remains above ground. The device is made from durable material that can withstand all temperature extremes and all environmental conditions.

The inventor claims: 
     
         1 . A post protector which is comprised of:
 a top section,   wherein the top section has a flanged surface,   wherein the device is hollow,   a sleeve,   wherein the sleeve extends a predetermined length,   wherein the sleeve is integral with the top section,   elastic material,   wherein elastic material is provided on the top surface of the top section of the device,   a top surface,   wherein the top surface is on the top section,   wherein the top surface has a predetermined shape,   wherein the top surface is attached to the sleeve,   a plurality of ventilation holes,   wherein the plurality of ventilation holes are positioned with an upward orientation,   wherein the plurality of ventilation holes are placed on the top surface;   wherein the device has a plurality of post shapes,   wherein the device will fit a plurality of post sizes.   
     
     
         2 . The post protector as described in  claim 1  wherein the plurality of shapes includes a rectangular shape. 
     
     
         3 . The post protector as described in  claim 1  wherein the plurality of shapes includes a circular shape. 
     
     
         4 . The post protector as described in  claim 1  wherein the plurality of shapes includes a square shape. 
     
     
         5 . The post protector as described in  claim 1  wherein the clastic material is an acrylic material. 
     
     
         6 . The post protector as described in  claim 1  wherein the clastic material is hard rubber.
