Abstract

A display case door includes a sealed glass unit assembly, a door frame, and an electronic display. The sealed glass unit assembly includes a sealed glass unit and a subframe extending about and coupled to the sealed glass unit. The subframe includes a set of two or more subframe rails configured to hold the sealed glass unit. The door frame is coupled to the subframe and configured to support the sealed glass unit assembly in the door frame. The electronic display is coupled to the door frame in front of the sealed glass unit. The door frame is configured to couple with a display case enclosure in an opening of the display case enclosure.

         2 . A display case door for a refrigerated display case enclosure, the display case door comprising:
 a frame configured to couple with the refrigerated display case enclosure;   a subframe coupled to the frame, wherein a portion of the subframe extends outward from the frame and supports an insulated panel assembly offset from the frame; and   an electronic video display coupled to the frame and overlaying the insulated panel assembly.   
     
     
         3 . The display case door of  claim 2 , wherein the insulated panel assembly comprises a sealed glass unit assembly comprising at least two layers of transparent panes bounding a sealed space in between. 
     
     
         4 . The display case door of  claim 2 , wherein the subframe extends about and holds the insulated panel assembly together. 
     
     
         5 . The display case door of  claim 2 , wherein the frame comprises a main rail section and an inner rim defining a slot therebetween, and a flange extending around a perimeter of the subframe is coupled within a slot of the frame. 
     
     
         6 . The display case door of  claim 3 , wherein the subframe comprises two side rails configured to couple to the frame of the display case door, the frame configured to couple with the refrigerated display case enclosure in an opening of the refrigerated display case enclosure. 
     
     
         7 . The display case door of  claim 6 , wherein each of the two side rails comprise:
 a main rail section configured to couple to the at least two layers of transparent panes; and   a front rim extending outward from the main rail section.   
     
     
         8 . The display case door of  claim 7 , wherein the main rail section defines a channel configured to couple to the at least two layers of transparent panes. 
     
     
         9 . The display case door of  claim 7 , wherein the frame comprises a top rail, a bottom rail, and a pair of side rails extending between the top rail and the bottom rail, each of the top rail, the bottom rail, and the pair of side rails comprises:
 a main rail section; and   a back cover coupled to the main rail section, the front rim of the two side rails of the subframe contained between the main rail section of the frame and the back cover.   
     
     
         10 . The display case door of  claim 9 , wherein each of the top rail, the bottom rail, and the pair of side rails further comprise an inner rim extending inward from the main rail section, the front rim of the two side rails of the subframe coupled to the inner rim of the frame. 
     
     
         11 . The display case door of  claim 10 , wherein the front rim of the subframe is further contained between the inner rim of the frame and a front face of the back cover. 
     
     
         12 . The display case door of  claim 9 , wherein the main rail section of the frame further comprises tabs positioned on a rear surface of the main rail section, the tabs configured to couple to the back cover. 
     
     
         13 . The display case door of  claim 12 , wherein the back cover further comprises tabs positioned on a front surface of the back cover, the tabs of the back cover configured to engage with the tabs of the main rail section of the frame. 
     
     
         14 . The display case door of  claim 13 , wherein the back cover further comprises a slot on a back surface of the back cover, the back surface opposite the front surface, the slot on the back surface configured to receive a portion of a gasket, and wherein the display case door further comprises the gasket coupled to the back surface of the back cover by the slot. 
     
     
         15 . The display case door of  claim 14 , further comprising a block of foam coupled to the front surface of the back cover, the front rim of the main rail section of the subframe coupled to the block of foam. 
     
     
         16 . The display case door of  claim 15 , wherein a portion of the main rail section of the frame extends into the block of foam. 
     
     
         17 . The display case door of  claim 15 , wherein the main rail section of the frame comprises a channel configured to receives one or more power cables that provide electrical power to an electronic display coupled to the frame in front of the sealed glass unit assembly. 
     
     
         18 . The display case door of  claim 9 , further comprising one or heater wires extending through the frame. 
     
     
         19 . The display case door of  claim 18 , wherein at least one heater wire is positioned between the main rail section and the back cover. 
     
     
         20 . The display case door of  claim 18 , wherein at least one heater wire is positioned between within a tab connecting the main rail section to the back cover. 
     
     
         21 . The display case door of  claim 2 , wherein the subframe further comprises a top rail and a bottom rail extending between two side rails, the top rail, the bottom rail, and the two side rails enclosing a perimeter of the insulated panel assembly. 
     
     
         22 . The display case door of  claim 21 , wherein the top rail, the bottom rail, and the two side rails are mate together forming miter joints, each of the top rail, the bottom rail, and the two side rails comprising slots configured to receive screws to join the top rail, the bottom rail, and the two side rails together at the miter joints. 
     
     
         23 . A display case door for a refrigerated display case comprising:
 a door frame configured to couple with the refrigerated display case in an opening of the refrigerated display case; and   a subframe coupled to the door frame, wherein a portion of the subframe extends outward from the door frame and is configured to support an insulated panel assembly offset from the door frame,   wherein the door frame is configured to support an electronic video display with the electronic video display coupled to the door frame in front of the insulated panel assembly.
