Abstract

An electromagnetic relay includes a first fixed terminal, a movable contact piece, a drive device, a contact case, and a housing. The first fixed terminal includes a first fixed contact. The movable contact piece includes a first movable contact facing the first fixed contact in a first direction. The drive device moves the movable contact piece in the first direction. The contact case is arranged side by side with the drive device in the first direction. The contact case accommodates the first fixed contact and the movable contact piece. The housing accommodates the contact case and the drive device. The housing includes a pressing section configured to press the contact case against the drive device.

1 . An electromagnetic relay, comprising:
 a first fixed terminal including a fixed contact;   a movable contact piece including a movable contact facing the fixed contact in a first direction;   a drive device configured to move the movable contact piece in the first direction;   a contact case arranged adjacent to the drive device in the first direction and in contact therewith, the contact case accommodating the first fixed contact and the movable contact piece; and   a housing including a pressing section configured and arranged to press the contact case against the drive device, the housing accommodating the contact case and the drive device.   
     
     
         2 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 1 , wherein the contact case includes a case-top wall extending in a direction perpendicular to the first direction, a case-side wall disposed to sides of the movable contact piece, the case-side wall extending in the first direction from the case-top wall toward the drive device, and a to-be-pressed section protruding from the case-side wall toward the housing, the to-be-pressed section configured and arranged to be pressed by the pressing section. 
     
     
         3 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 2 , wherein the case-top wall is comprised of resin and supports the first fixed terminal. 
     
     
         4 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 2 , wherein
 the housing further includes a side wall disposed to sides of the case-side wall and the drive device, and   the pressing section of the housing protrudes from the side wall toward the case-side wall.   
     
     
         5 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 4 , wherein the pressing section of the housing is elastically flexible in the first direction. 
     
     
         6 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 2 , wherein the drive device includes a yoke configured to contact the to-be-pressed section of the contact case. 
     
     
         7 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 2 , wherein
 the housing further includes a housing body, the housing body has an opening, the opening being open in a direction extending from the drive device toward the contact case, and a lid configured to close the opening, and   the lid includes the pressing section.   
     
     
         8 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the contact case includes a case-top wall extending in a direction perpendicular to the first direction, and a case-side wall disposed to sides of the movable contact piece, the case-side wall extending in the first direction from the case-top wall toward the drive device,   the housing further includes a top wall facing the case-top wall in the first direction, and   the top wall of the housing includes the pressing section.   
     
     
         9 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 8 , wherein the pressing section presses a vicinity of a boundary between the case-top wall and the case-side wall. 
     
     
         10 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 9 , wherein the pressing section is arranged at a position overlapping the case-side wall in the first direction. 
     
     
         11 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 9 , wherein the case-top wall is comprised of resin and supports the first fixed terminal. 
     
     
         12 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 8 , wherein
 the housing further includes a housing body, the housing body has an opening, the opening being open in a direction extending from the drive device toward the contact case, and a lid configured to close the opening, and   the lid of the housing includes the top wall of the housing.   
     
     
         13 . The electromagnetic relay according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a second fixed terminal including a second fixed contact, wherein the movable contact piece further includes a second movable contact facing the second fixed contact in the first direction.
