Abstract

A hair dryer assembly includes a hair dryer and an attachment. The hair dryer has a body. The attachment is configured to receive airflow from the hair dryer. The attachment includes a first end defining an inlet for airflow to enter the attachment, and engagement features on the first end. The engagement features are configured to engage the body of the hair dryer and secure the attachment to the body of the hair dryer. Also, the attachment includes a second end opposite the first end, and a channel wall intermediate the first end and the inlet. The channel wall at least partly defines an outlet for the airflow to exit the attachment.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An attachment for a hair dryer having a body, the attachment configured to receive airflow from the hair dryer, the attachment comprising:
 a first end defining an inlet for the airflow to enter the attachment; engagement features on the first end, the engagement features configured to engage the body of the hair dryer and secure the attachment to the body of the hair dryer; a second end opposite the first end; and a channel wall intermediate the first end and the inlet, the channel wall at least partly defining an outlet for the airflow to exit the attachment.

         2 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the attachment is bent in a general 1-shape or hook shape.

         3 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , further comprising a top, a bottom, and a sidewall extending a distance between the first end and the second end.

         4 . The attachment set forth in claim 3 , wherein a cavity is defined between the sidewall, the top, and the bottom, wherein the top and the bottom are sloped along at least a portion of an extension between the first end and the second end, and wherein the attachment is shaped such that at least a portion of the airflow is at least partly redirected within the cavity.

         5 . The attachment set forth in claim 4 , wherein the top and the bottom are sloped toward each other between the first end and the second end such that the attachment has a tapered shape.

         6 . The attachment set forth in claim 4 , further comprising a guide surface on the top, the guide surface extending along a hair receiving channel and configured to guide hair into the hair receiving channel.

         7 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the channel wall is curved.

         8 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the outlet is slot-shaped.

         9 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the engagement features comprise at least one of clips or projections.

         10 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the attachment is one of a concentrator, a diffuser, a pick, a nozzle, or a straightener.

         11 . The attachment set forth in claim 1 , wherein the channel wall defines a hair receiving channel, wherein the channel wall extends in a direction not parallel to a direction that the airflow enters the inlet.

         12 . A hair dryer assembly comprising:
 a hair dryer including a body with a first engagement feature; and an attachment configured to releasably connect to the hair dryer, the attachment comprising:
 a first end defining an inlet for airflow to enter the attachment;
 a second engagement feature configured to engage the first engagement feature on the body of the hair dryer and secure the attachment to the body of the hair dryer;
 a second end opposite the first end; and
 a channel wall at least partly defining an outlet for the airflow to exit the attachment.

         13 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 12 , wherein the attachment is bent in a general 1-shape or hook shape.

         14 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 12 , wherein the attachment further comprises a top, a bottom, and a sidewall extending a distance between the first end and the second end.

         15 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 14 , wherein the attachment includes a cavity defined between the sidewall, the top, and the bottom, wherein the top and the bottom of the attachment are sloped along at least a portion of an extension between the first end and the second end, and wherein the attachment is shaped such that at least a portion of the airflow is at least partly redirected within the cavity.

         16 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 15 , wherein the top and the bottom of the attachment are sloped toward each other between the first end and the second end such that the attachment has a tapered shape.

         17 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 16 , wherein the attachment further comprises a guide surface on the top, the guide surface extending along a hair receiving channel and configured to guide hair into the hair receiving channel.

         18 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 12 , wherein the first and second engagement features comprise at least one of clips or projections.

         19 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 12 , wherein the attachment is one of a concentrator, a diffuser, a pick, a nozzle, or a straightener.

         20 . The hair dryer assembly set forth in claim 12 , wherein the channel wall defines a hair receiving channel, wherein the channel wall extends in a direction not parallel to a direction that the airflow enters the inlet.
