Abstract

A building panel configured to couple with a building structure to form at least a portion of a wall includes a monolithic sheet defining a sheet body, a top edge defining at least one tab and at least one flanged portion, a bottom edge opposed from the top edge defining a flanged portion having at least one slot configured to receive a tab from an adjacent building panel, a first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge defining a flanged portion, a second side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge defining a flanged portion, a first mounting plate defined by the first side edge extending perpendicular to the first side edge toward the second side edge, and a second mounting plate defined by the second side edge extending perpendicular to the second side edge toward the first side edge.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A building panel configured to couple with a building structure to form at least a portion of a wall, the building panel comprising:
 a monolithic sheet defining:
 a sheet body; 
 a top edge defining at least one tab and at least one flanged portion; 
 a bottom edge opposed from the top edge, the bottom edge defining a flanged portion having at least one slot configured to receive a tab from an adjacent building panel; 
 a first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the first side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a second side edge opposed from the first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the second side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a first mounting plate defined by the first side edge, the first mounting plate extending perpendicular to the first side edge toward the second side edge; and 
 a second mounting plate defined by the second side edge, the second mounting plate extending perpendicular to the second side edge toward the first side edge. 
   
     
     
         2 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the sheet body is discontinuous. 
     
     
         3 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the sheet body comprises a plurality of openings. 
     
     
         4 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the monolithic sheet comprises one of aluminum and steel. 
     
     
         5 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 the first mounting plate is defined by the first side edge at a position that is offset from the bottom edge of the monolithic sheet relative to a vertical axis; and   wherein the second mounting plate is defined by the second side edge at a position that is offset from the bottom edge of the monolithic sheet relative to the vertical axis.   
     
     
         6 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the flanged portion of the first side edge and the flanged portion of the second side edge extend from the top edge of the monolithic sheet to the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate. 
     
     
         7 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the top edge defines at least two tabs and wherein the bottom edge defines at least two slots. 
     
     
         8 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 the top edge is tapered such that the flanged portion is wider at an end adjacent the second side edge than at an end adjacent the first side edge; and   wherein the bottom edge is tapered such that the flanged portion is wider at an end adjacent the second side edge than at an end adjacent the first side edge.   
     
     
         9 . The building panel according to  claim 1 , wherein the sheet body is angled relative to a taper angle of the top and bottom edges. 
     
     
         10 . A wall screen configured to couple with a building structure to form at least a portion of a building façade, the wall screen comprising:
 a main panel having a top edge, a bottom edge, and opposing first and second side edges extending between the top edge and the bottom edge; 
 opposing side flanges extending perpendicularly from the opposing first and second side edges of the main panel, the opposing first and second side flanges configured to couple to side flanges of an adjacent wall screen; 
 opposing first and second mounting plates extending inward perpendicularly from lower edges of the side flanges, the mounting plates positioned above the bottom edge of the main panel; 
 a horizontal bottom flange extending perpendicularly from the bottom edge of the main panel and defining two or more slots; and 
 a horizontal top flange extending perpendicularly from the top edge of the main panel and defining two or more tabs, each of the two or more tabs sized to be received in one or more slots of a bottom flange of an adjacent wall screen. 
 
     
     
         11 . The wall screen according to  claim 10 , wherein the opposing first and second side edges each define at least one opening configured to receive a fastener for coupling with an adjacent wall screen. 
     
     
         12 . The wall screen according to  claim 10 , wherein the opposing first and second mounting plates each define at least one opening configured to receive a fastener for attachment to the building structure. 
     
     
         13 . The wall screen according to  claim 10 , wherein the main panel comprises a discontinuous sheet body. 
     
     
         14 . The wall screen according to  claim 10 , wherein the main panel, the opposing side flanges, the horizontal bottom flange, and the horizontal top flange are formed from a single monolithic sheet of metal. 
     
     
         15 . A wall screen system comprising:
 a first building panel configured to couple with a building structure to form at least a portion of a wall, the first building panel comprising:
 a monolithic sheet defining:
 a sheet body; 
 a top edge defining at least one tab and at least one flanged portion; 
 a bottom edge opposed from the top edge, the bottom edge defining a flanged portion having at least one slot; 
 a first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the first side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a second side edge opposed from the first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the second side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a first mounting plate defined by the first side edge, the first mounting plate extending perpendicular to the first side edge toward the second side edge; and 
 a second mounting plate defined by the second side edge, the second mounting plate extending perpendicular to the second side edge toward the first side edge; and 
 
   a second building panel configured to couple with the first building panel, the second building panel comprising:
 a monolithic sheet defining:
 a sheet body; 
 a top edge defining at least one tab and at least one flanged portion; 
 a bottom edge opposed from the top edge, the bottom edge defining a flanged portion having at least one slot configured to nest with the at least one tab of the first building panel; 
 a first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the first side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a second side edge opposed from the first side edge extending between the top edge and the bottom edge, the second side edge defining a flanged portion; 
 a first mounting plate defined by the first side edge, the first mounting plate extending perpendicular to the first side edge toward the second side edge; and 
 a second mounting plate defined by the second side edge, the second mounting plate extending perpendicular to the second side edge toward the first side edge. 
 
   
     
     
         16 . The wall screen system according to  claim 15 , further comprising at least two anchoring fasteners configured to be received by the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate of the first building panel for anchoring the first building panel to the building structure. 
     
     
         17 . The wall screen system according to  claim 15 , wherein the at least one tab of the first building panel is configured to be positioned in the at least one slot of the second building panel for coupling the first and second building panels together to form a wall. 
     
     
         18 . The wall screen system according to  claim 15 , wherein the sheet body of the first building panel and the sheet body of the second building panel are discontinuous. 
     
     
         19 . The wall screen system according to  claim 15 , further comprising a third building panel positioned adjacent the first building panel, wherein the third building panel is configured to be coupled to the first building panel with at least one fastener positioned through the first side edge of the first building panel and a side edge of the third building panel. 
     
     
         20 . The wall screen system according to  claim 15 , wherein:
 the top edge of the first building panel and the top edge of the second building panel are tapered such that the flanged portions of each top edge are wider at an end adjacent each second side edge than at an end adjacent each first side edge; and   wherein the bottom of the first building panel and the top edge of the second building panel are tapered such that each flanged portion is wider at an end adjacent each second side edge than at an end adjacent each first side edge.
