Claims

Abstract

A closure assembly for a package with a flexible thin-walled bag which has a spout unit having a spout and at least one spout cam portion, and a closure applicable to the spout unit and having a cap that extends along a cap axis is provided. The cap has cap wall having a lower edge in which at least one cap cam portion is formed. The at least one cap cam portion is at least partly complementary to the at least one spout cam portion. In a disengagement configuration, by rotating the cap with respect to the spout about the cap axis, an interaction between the at least one cap cam portion and the at least one spout cam portion causes the cap to lift axially with respect to the spout.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A closure assembly for a package with a flexible thin-walled bag for containing fruit juices and puree, yogurt, energy drinks and the like, comprising:
 a spout unit extending along a spout axis, comprising a connection portion, suitable for being hermetically applied to the bag, a spout and at least one spout cam portion;   a closure which is applicable to the spout unit, comprising a cap which is engageable with the spout extending along a cap axis, wherein the cap comprises a cap wall comprising a lower edge in which at least one cap cam portion ( 35 ) is obtained;   wherein the at least one cap cam portion is at least partially complementary to the at least one spout cam portion;   wherein, in a disengagement configuration, by rotating the cap about the cap axis with respect to the spout, the interaction between the at least one cap cam portion and the at least one spout cam portion causes an axial lifting of the cap with respect to the spout;   wherein the spout unit is made in a single piece of plastics material by means of injection molding and the closure is made in a single piece of plastics material by injection molding,   wherein the spout unit comprises an upper plate orthogonal to the spout axis, and   wherein the spout cam portion is close to the spout.   
     
     
         2 . The closure assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the spout cam portion defines an upper cam surface inclined with respect to the spout axis. 
     
     
         3 . The closure assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the spout unit comprises two spout cam portions arranged symmetrically with respect to the spout axis and two diametrically opposite cap cam portions are obtained in the lower edge. 
     
     
         4 . The closure assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the spout unit comprises a spout locking element and the closure comprises an engagement element arranged in proximity to the lower edge, wherein, in a locked configuration, the engagement element engages the spout locking element in such a way that the spout unit and the closure are jointly engaged with each other. 
     
     
         5 . The closure assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the spout unit comprises two spout locking elements, arranged symmetrically with respect to the spout axis and the closure comprises two diametrically opposite engagement elements. 
     
     
         6 . The closure assembly of  claim 4 , wherein, in a disengagement configuration, rotating the cap with respect to the spout about the cap axis, the interaction between the at least one cap cam portion and the at least one spout cam portion, causes the cap to lift axially with respect to the spout and the engagement element disengages from the locking element. 
     
     
         7 . The closure assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the closure comprises a handle made in one piece with the cap, wherein the handle comprises two wing portions which extend from the cap wall substantially on an imaginary plane containing the cap axis, in two opposite directions, wherein said wing portions comprise a panel portion and a reinforcement rib integral with the panel portion, and wherein the panel portion is planar and is entirely contained in the imaginary plane containing the cap axis and the reinforcement rib is positioned at the top of the panel portion. 
     
     
         8 . The closure assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the upper plate has two opposite straight edges joined by two leading edges and the spout cam portion is made on a straight edge. 
     
     
         9 . A package comprising:
 a flexible thin-walled bag; and   the closure assembly of  claim 1 ;   wherein the connection portion of the spout unit is hermetically applied to the bag.
