Abstract
The invention is a modular smart targeting system for shooting projectiles at and then the shooter being presented with an analysis of their aim and/or shooting technique. The target have a general shape, such as a person or animal, where target points can be added to different positions on the target. The target points have a strike sensor and communication means to register a strike and transmit the information to a user via a network. The user can view their shooting analysis on their phone or personal device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . An interactive network connected firearm target system, comprising:
at least one target, with multiple locations for attaching at least one target point, the target point comprising a strike sensor for detecting if and when an object strikes the target point; a scoring device for assigning a score to each strike made to the at least one target containing the at least one target point; a central device for collecting the scoring information from each target and target point and analyzing the scoring information from each target; an application running on a user device for outputting the scoring information collected by the central device.
2 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the strike sensor is sensitive enough to detect the impact of a soft projectile.
3 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the strike sensor is able to detect a strike from a bullet.
4 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the strike sensor is sensitive enough to detect the strike of a soft projectile and a bullet.
5 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the central device is a wireless hub that uses a mesh network.
6 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the central device is a smart phone, tablet, or portable computer.
7 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a recoil detection device is wirelessly connected to the central device to detect when a firearm is fired.
8 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 7 , further comprising:
the recoil detector is attached to a user or a firearm.
9 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the target points have embedded light sources to indicate that the target point was struck.
10 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
multiple targets are linked to each other wirelessly.
11 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the target points can detect where on the point that the projectile strikes.
12 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the target point is made up of three layers: protective cover, sensor, and backing.
13 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the targets can be any shape or size.
14 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the targets can output a sound when the target is struck.
15 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the target points can be any shape or size.
16 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
wherein the target points consist of modular tiles with embedded sensors to allow for the targets to be adapted to different training types.
17 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 16 , further comprising:
the target points are covered with a protective layer consisting of at least one: silicon, fabrics, or metal.
18 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 1 , further comprising:
the central device communicates the scoring information to a location on the Internet.
19 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 18 , further comprising:
the location on the internet is a social media page.
20 . The interactive network connected firearm target system of claim 19 , further comprising:
the location on the internet is a site for hosting shooting competitions.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
