Storage case organizational system
Abstract
An organizer system for use with a case including a base and a lid configured to be matingly coupled together for containing an object therein is disclosed. The organizer system includes a panel system including at least one panel, the at least one panel including a plurality of cutouts formed therein, and a plurality of mounting blocks, each one of the plurality of mounting blocks including a block body and at least one stud. The stud is configured to be removably insertable into one of the plurality of cutouts. When the mounting blocks are inserted into the cutouts adjacent to the object then the base and the lid are coupled together, the panel system and the mounting blocks cooperate to prevent shifting of the object within the case. A method for storing an object in a case using an organizer system is also disclosed.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An organizer system for a firearm case, the organizer system comprising:
first and second selectively interlocking panels, the panels each having a first side and an opposing second side, a grid of apertures arrayed across the first and second panels each aperture extending from the first side to the second side; and a plurality of retaining blocks each having a body coupled to a stud, the body being wider than the stud and the stud shaped to be selectively retained within one of the apertures; wherein the plurality of retaining blocks in concert with at least one of the first and second panels are arranged to contact and minimize movement of a firearm or firearm accessory.
2 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein each stud is dimensioned to extend partway between the first and second sides.
3 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein the bodies have a generally rectangular cross section when viewed along a longitudinal axis through the retaining blocks.
4 . The organizer system of claim 3 , wherein the studs are tapered along the longitudinal axis.
5 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of retaining blocks are shaped to form friction fits within the apertures.
6 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second selectively interlocking panels comprise at least one side having teeth shaped to selectively interlock with teeth of an adjacent one of the selectively interlocking panels.
7 . The organizer system of claim 6 , wherein top surfaces of the first and second selectively interlocking panels are configured to make a flush fit with each other, while the teeth are arranged below this flush fit.
8 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein the retaining blocks comprise a material configured to compress when in contact with the firearm or the firearm accessory.
9 . The organizer system of claim 1 , wherein the lid insert touches at least two of the plurality of mounting blocks.
10 . The organizer system of claim 1 wherein each of the apertures is formed as an opening shaped generally as at least one of a rectangle, a square, a circle, a triangle, a diamond, and a hexagon.
11 . An organizer system for use with a case including a base and a lid configured to be matingly coupled together for containing a firearm or firearm accessory therein, the organizer system comprising:
a lid insert installed into the lid; a panel system including at least two panels that interlock together, at least one of the at least two panels including a plurality of cutouts formed therein; and a plurality of mounting blocks, each one of the plurality of mounting blocks including a block body integrally formed with at least one stud, wherein each of the at least one stud is configured to be removably insertable by friction fit into one of the plurality of cutouts; wherein the panel system is installed into an internal volume of the case by friction fit, and wherein, when the base and the lid are coupled together, the lid insert further cooperates with the panel system and the plurality of mounting blocks to assist in preventing shifting of the firearm or firearm accessory within the case.
12 . A case for a firearm or firearm accessory, the case comprising:
a lid rotatably coupled to a base; a panel system comprising at least a first panel installed in the lid or the base, the first panel comprising an array of cutouts passing through the first panel from a first side to a second side; a plurality of mounting blocks, each one of the plurality of mounting blocks including a block body and at least one stud, wherein the at least one stud is configured to be removably insertable into one of the cutouts; wherein, when the lid is closed against the base, tops of the plurality of mounting blocks are configured to compress against a second panel in the lid or the lid, and sides of the plurality of mounting blocks are configured to compress against the firearm or firearm accessory.
13 . The case of claim 12 , wherein the at least one stud extends into the panel from the first side but does not extend to the second side.
14 . The case of claim 12 , wherein the panel system is installed into an internal volume of the case by friction fit.
15 . The case of claim 12 , wherein the block bodies have a square or rectangular cross section and the studs are tapered.
16 . The case of claim 12 , wherein the block bodies have a square or rectangular cross section.
17 . The case of claim 12 , further comprising a second panel and wherein the first panel comprises at least one side having teeth shaped to selectively interlock with teeth a second panel.
