Abstract
An archery assembly and method are disclosed herein. The archery assembly includes, in an embodiment, a mounting device defining a hole. The mounting device includes a protrusion that is configured to be at least partially inserted into a cavity of an archery mounting portion, and the archery mounting portion has a dovetail shape. The archery assembly also includes an adjuster configured to be at least partially inserted into the hole of the mounting device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe following is claimed:
1 . An archery assembly comprising:
a mounting device defining a hole, wherein the mounting device comprises a protrusion that is configured to be at least partially inserted into a cavity of an archery mounting portion, wherein the archery mounting portion defines a dovetail shape, wherein the cavity is at least partially located between:
a first plane that extends through a first section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the first section is configured to at least partially face in a rearward direction when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented; and
a second plane that extends through a second section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the second section is located forward of the first section when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented;
an adjuster configured to be at least partially inserted into the hole; and a knob connected to the adjuster, wherein the adjuster is configured to cooperate with the mounting device so that, when the protrusion is inserted into the cavity and the adjuster is inserted into the hole, a movement of the knob relative to the mounting device causes the adjuster to move relative to the archery mounting portion, and if an archery accessory is coupled to the adjuster, the movement also causes the archery accessory to move relative to the archery mounting portion.
2 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the archery mounting portion is a component that is separate from an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the component is configured to be attached to the archery riser through one or more fasteners.
3 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the archery mounting portion is a region of an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the region is integral with the archery riser.
4 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the protrusion comprises an arm.
5 . The archery assembly of claim 4 , wherein the arm comprises a clamp arm.
6 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cavity at least partially defines the dovetail shape.
7 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the hole comprises a vertical bore.
8 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
the mounting device comprises an interior surface that at least partially defines the hole, wherein the interior surface comprises a plurality of threads; and the adjuster comprises a threaded portion configured to engage the threads of the interior surface.
9 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the archery accessory comprises an arrow rest device configured to support an arrow.
10 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , comprising a clamping device configured to at least partially surround the protrusion, wherein the clamping device is configured to be attached to the archery mounting portion.
11 . The archery assembly of claim 1 , wherein the clamping device comprises a locking device.
12 . An archery assembly comprising:
a mounting device defining a hole, wherein the mounting device comprises a protrusion that is configured to be at least partially inserted into a cavity of an archery mounting portion, wherein the archery mounting portion comprises a dovetail shape, wherein the cavity is at least partially located between:
a first plane that extends through a first section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the first section is configured to at least partially face in a rearward direction when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented; and
a second plane that extends through a second section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the second section is located forward of the first section when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented; and
an adjuster configured to be at least partially inserted into the hole.
13 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , wherein the archery mounting portion is a component that is separate from an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the component is configured to be attached to the archery riser through one or more fasteners.
14 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , wherein the archery mounting portion is a region of an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the region is integral with the archery riser.
15 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , wherein the protrusion comprises an arm.
16 . The archery assembly of claim 15 , wherein the arm comprises a clamp arm.
17 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , wherein the cavity at least partially defines the dovetail shape.
18 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , wherein the hole comprises a vertical bore.
19 . The archery assembly of claim 18 , wherein the mounting device comprises an interior surface that at least partially defines the hole, wherein the interior surface comprises a plurality of threads.
20 . The archery assembly of claim 19 , wherein the adjuster comprises a threaded portion configured to engage the threads of the interior surface.
21 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , comprising a knob connected to the adjuster.
22 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , comprising a clamping device configured to be attached to the archery mounting portion.
23 . The archery assembly of claim 22 , wherein the clamping device comprises a locking device.
24 . The archery assembly of claim 12 , comprising an archery accessory coupled to the adjuster, wherein the archery accessory comprises one of an arrow rest device or a sight device.
25 . A method of manufacturing an archery assembly, the method comprising:
configuring a mounting device so that the mounting device defines a hole and comprises a protrusion, wherein the protrusion is configured to be at least partially inserted into a cavity of an archery mounting portion, wherein the archery mounting portion comprises a dovetail shape, wherein the cavity is at least partially located between:
a first plane that extends through a first section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the first section is configured to at least partially face in a rearward direction when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented; and
a second plane that extends through a second section of the archery mounting portion, wherein the second section is located forward of the first section when the archery mounting portion is vertically oriented; and
configuring an adjuster to be at least partially inserted into the hole.
26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the archery mounting portion is one of:
(a) a component that is separate from an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the component is configured to be attached to the archery riser through one or more fasteners; or (b) a region of an archery riser of an archery bow, wherein the region is integral with the archery riser.
27 . The method of claim 25 , wherein:
the configuring of the mounting device comprises configuring an interior surface that at least partially defines the hole, wherein the interior surface comprises a plurality of threads; and the configuring of the adjuster comprises configuring a threaded portion to engage the threads of the interior surface.
