Abstract
An all-weather cornhole board fabricated from an aluminum clad material employing exterior-grade aluminum.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An all-weather cornhole board fabricated from aluminum clad sheets wherein said sheets comprise a core material, and an exterior layer of exterior-grade aluminum, completely covering the surface of the board in such a way that the board is impervious to air, water and moisture, where the exterior surface contacting the environment is coated with a protective coating.
2 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 1 wherein the aluminum clad sheets are made from composite aluminum panels that are composed of two 0.30 mm aluminum sheets securely adhered to a polyethylene core.
3 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein the core comprises a material selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, polyurethane, and other hydrocarbon polymer materials.
4 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 3 , wherein the core comprises a material selected from the group consisting of polystyrene and polyurethane.
5 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein the core comprises an open cell polyurethane foam.
6 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein the core comprises an open cell polyurethane foam and aluminum-urethane constraining layer.
7 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein the board comprises two layers of aluminum clad sheets wherein said sheets comprise a core material of polystyrene or polyurethane, and an exterior layer of exterior-grade aluminum, completely covering the surface of the board in such a way that the board is impervious to air, water and moisture, where the exterior surface contacting the environment is aluminum oxide.
8 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 7 , wherein each of the two layers is about 6 mm thick, and bonded to the other, face-to-face, with an adhesive.
9 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 8 comprising no brackets or fasteners.
10 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein coating comprises a material selected from the group consisting of polyester, acrylic or fluorocarbon.
11 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 comprising pre-painted aluminum sheets bonded to a solid polyethylene core.
12 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 , wherein brackets or fasteners or rivets may be used to hold aluminum clad sheets together.
13 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 made using no wood-derived components.
14 . The all-weather cornhole board of claim 2 having the following qualities:
(a) resistance to absorption of water;
(b) resistance to rotting;
(c) resistance to colonization by microbial forms such as fungi, bacteria and algae;
(d) hardiness and resistance to physical degradation over time due to heat;
(e) resistance to physical degradation over time due to moisture;
(f) resistance to physical degradation over time due to light, particularly UV;
(g) sound dampening properties;
(h) vibration dampening properties; and
(i) minimal heat retention.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
