Abstract

The present disclosure relates to compositions, including, transdermal delivery systems useful as topical analgesics including an effective amount of a compound (e.g., psilocybin) for treating drug addiction (e.g. opioid addiction) and menthol and optionally cannabinoids wherein the menthol component can be a stabilized menthol composition comprising menthol and at least one menthol stabilizer compound including undecylenic acid methyl ester, undecylenic acid or a salt of undecylenic acid.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A transdermal delivery system, comprising:
 an absorbent material including
 menthol;
 an effective amount of a compound for treating drug addiction;
 a carrier solvent;
 an absorbent polymer; and
 a surfactant.

         2 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 1 , further including at least one cannabinoid.

         3 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent polymer is a superabsorbent polymer.

         4 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 1 , wherein the carrier solvent is coconut oil, medium chain triglycerides, olive oil, castor oil, canola oil, triacetin, corn oil, petrolatum, mineral oil, shea butter or mixtures thereof.

         5 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 2 , wherein the at least one cannabinoid is full spectrum hemp oil.

         6 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 1 , wherein the compound for treating drug addiction is psilocybin.

         7 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 1 , wherein the compound for treating drug addiction is for treating opioid addition.

         8 . A transdermal delivery system, comprising:
 a backing material includes a first side and a second side, the second side at least a portion of which including a topically acceptable adhesive; an absorbent material layer includes a first side and a second side and
       wherein the first side of the absorbent material layer is positioned adjacent the second side of the backing material, the absorbent material including
 menthol;
 an effective amount of a compound for treating drug addiction;
 a carrier solvent; and
 an absorbent polymer; and
 a release layer in contact with a portion of the second side of the backing material,
 wherein the absorbent material is positioned in a cavity in between the backing layer and the release layer.

         9 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 8 , further including at least one cannabinoid.

         10 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 8 , wherein the compound for treating drug addiction is psilocybin.

         11 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 8 , wherein the compound for treating drug addiction is for treating opioid addition.

         12 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 8 , wherein the absorbent polymer is a superabsorbent polymer.

         13 . The transdermal delivery system of claim 8 , wherein the carrier solvent is coconut oil, medium chain triglycerides, olive oil, castor oil, canola oil, triacetin, corn oil, petrolatum, mineral oil, shea butter or mixtures thereof.

         14 . A method of treating drug addiction of a human patient using a transdermal delivery system, the transdermal delivery system comprising:
 an absorbent material including a first side and a second side, the absorbent material including
 at least one
 cannabinoid; menthol;
 an effective amount of a compound for treating drug addiction;
 a carrier solvent;
 an absorbent polymer; and
 a surfactant,
   the method comprising:
 topically applying the first side or the second side of the absorbent material to a skin surface of a body part of the human patient.

         15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the transdermal delivery system further includes at least one cannabinoid.

         16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the compound for treating drug addiction ispsilocybin.

         17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the method of treating drug addiction is for treating opioid addition.

         18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the absorbent polymer is a superabsorbentpolymer.

         19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the carrier solvent is coconut oil, medium chain triglycerides, olive oil, castor oil, canola oil, triacetin, corn oil, petrolatum, mineral oil, shea butter or mixtures thereof.

         20 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the transdermal delivery system further includes a backing layer comprising an adhesive side and a non-adhesive side such that the adhesive side covers the other of the first side or the second side of the absorbent material and contacting at least a portion of the adhesive side of the backing layer with the skin surface.
